See title. In order for the game to register the Skylander is on the portal, I need to hold the figure roughly and inch in the air, and just the right spot... Is this happening with anyone else?

Sometimes mine just don't register right away.

Yep, always the case with me. Annoys me, but I've just come to accept it.

Mine doesn't have that issue although it starts to read the figure well before it ever touches the 3DS Portal.

My 3DS portal works just fine and I've never had this problem with it.

How can you use the 3DS portal with the Wii? I tried and it doesn't work. It always asks for a wireless adapter (or something like that). My 3DS portal has a bad quality, too. It does not turn off so I always have to take the batteries out... >:-(

Try plugging the 3DS portal into the Wii USB port before launching the game. It should not complain about the wireless adapter if you do that. -VM

I've never had a problem with the 3DS portal. Line up the sensor on the 3DS with the one on the portal and you're good. If you don't line it up right, it won't work.
I feel bad that some people's portals aren't working like they should. That sucks. But if you didn't know to line up the sensors, I've got no sympathy. It's pretty obvious how it works, but if yours is defective this won't fix it.

Do you have to send your old one back first, or after you get the replacement? It would be even worse to go from "wonky portal" to "no portal at all" for several weeks.
