It'll do much better on the 3DS.
Vita is much too pricey and the only people I've seen that have one are the ones that won it from that Taco Bell thing. Most of them traded it in for store credit because it isn't as good as the PSP.

Vita didn't even make it into the top 10 in sales last month when it released...that's a bad sign for it. It's a bust as a device. Portable gaming is a think of the past with androids and iphones.

Actually the 3DS is doing so much better than the original DS in its first year. It's pretty much dominating the handheld market since the Vita is doing so bad.

I have some doubts about it being released for the Vita. Really, Activision seemed to want to partner closer with Nintendo than the other systems (I mean, certainly they could have released Adventure for PSP or even a late release for Vita, but because they didn't makes me question a future release) especially since the game was originally designed for just the Wii console.

Honstly, I have a PS Vita myself. It's really not a bust either way you think about it. PS Vita actually had better sales than the 3DS in a total. 3DS just got more sales in the first month since Nintendo hadnt released any new consoles since 2006. Plus, the PS Vita had only a total of about 30 launcch games priced $30-$60. And due to people not knowing much about the system and only relying on reviews just barely skimming what the PS vita can do. Once you get actuall INTO the PS Vita experience, you end up getting a whole bunch of demo versions of the PS Vita launch games and looking at the graphics, controls, etc. Plus the Vita has messaging through PSN, FaceBook, Twitter, other social networks, killer apps soon to come out.

I got a Vita for Easter, and I was sceptical. I love my 3DS and didn't really think the Vita was worth it. However, after being hooked to it for hours, I must say I'm very impressed. While I will still probably get Giants for my 3DS, since it's still my favorite, the Vita is definitely impressive and serious competition for the 3DS, in my opinion.

The thing that worries me most about the Vita (aside from the cost) is the fact there are so many pre-owned ones available... my local pre-owned gaming shop has a window full... That surely can't be a good sign?

Nope. 3DS is still outselling the Vita in the U.S, and in Japan it's total domination in a near 10:1 sales ratio. Have some sales figures for March. Quote:

On the Vita side of things, I don't own one. I played a demo in a store and I think its an awesome console once you actually get it in your hands. Feels very nice and looks awesome. Theres a buttload of technology in that thing that can make future gaming amazing. (What I played was Wipeout 2048, I believe. Felt really nice to play, even if it was just a bogstandard racing game at the end of the day. Every button on the console moves beautifully with no sticking)
But its also brand new. Its untried technology. People have only just scratched the surface of what it can do. Like the original DS games, they didn't utilise the technology as much as they could. Because the developers were still playing with it and seeing what it could do. No other console has high quality graphics, two touchscreens, joysticks and gyroscope to start on what this thing has. Theres not a lot of games for it that are platform exclusives at the moment. Most of what I can see is on another console. The exclusives is a huge draw for new consoles! Theres also the price factor. In the UK, I think the most expensive Vita... is £10 less than the most expensive PS3. Its a very pricey console, especially for a handheld. In the economic climate, not many people are willing to risk it. Then I bet people aren't willing to risk it because the handheld market has been dominated by Nintendo for years. The PSP died many years ago, with the attempt to revive it failing miserably, and no one yet knows what the Vita is going to produce. Whereas the 3DS? Its been out for longer. Its had time to release exclusives and had time to get people interested in the console. Its also backed by the market handheld leader (ignoring iOS/ droid). It also has the slight added benefit of being backwards compatible- something the Vita lacks. HOWEVER remember the 3DS had PITIFUL launch sales. They were going to make the LoZ 3DS Europe exclusive, because seriously... us Europeans did not want the 3DS. Our sales were the worst of them all. Its gaining more momentum now, but only because it has the exclusives (Kid Icarus being the big one at the moment). Not only that, but the 3DS is only so "cheap" because they've had to bump the price down to get people interested in it! It wasn't supposed to get this cheap so quickly. It was much closer to the Vitas price when it first came out. Disinterest in the Vita may lead it to becoming cheaper... and thus make it more popular. That being said, back on topic, I would totally support Activision porting Giants onto the Vita. Considering Skylanders is on every other major console, it seems a logical move. Plus, if the gameplay is different enough (or the same as the 3DS version, so people like me who hate the 3D gimmick, or who get terrible headaches from it, may be more interested) people may just be interested in buying the console JUST to play the game. Which is good for Sony too.

the reason 3DS also might stay more popular is because its 3D since its new in the gaming market.

I've own all of Sony's consoles. Heck I own all consoles I'm pretty sure, including the Jaguar and what not.
I've never owned a psp system though, and never plan to. We get a ton of them traded in at our store. Our Pre-order numbers were in the single digits and our sell through is laughable. Honestly I don't see anything "wrong" with the system. But if it does exactly what the ps3 can do already, why not stick to a nice 60 inch HDTV?

when i got my psp many years ago, all i did was play a nes emulator, and then years down the road, all i still do on it is play emulators.. when the vita has emulators and some homebrew on it, id be more interested. or when they get an exclusive that i cant live without playing.. (psp didnt have any of those, at least i cant remember any)

The PS Vita is a very interesting system, but the price is outrageously high. I bought my 3DS when it was first released and they dropped the price, so now i'm an "ambassador". If the PS Vita was the same price that the 3DS is now i'd own one just because the AR is also fantastic.

'little big planet' and 'killzone liberty' is worth getting for the psp i guess and you can hook the psp up to the tv, so no more little screen.. is the psp easy to hack??... i am thinking about getting a psp now, since the price is dropping after the psvita release... |
