We got a multi-pack bag of Frito Lay chips today. Inside the bag was a skylanders card with a code printed on it. I went to the website and entered the code, it said I was a winner. I have no idea what "limited edition" skylander is defined as. My son is beyond excited, I just wish I knew what to expect in the mail, sometime in the next 8 weeks. It states there are only 7,334 prizes amongst 50 states. I hope this is more than just any old skylander that I can purchase off any toy store shelf!!! Has anyone heard of this promotion???

I have seen the bags in Walmart and along with the code they had a $1 off coupon off of any single Skylander

We got it at the local supermarket. It is a flavor mix bag of 20 - 1oz bags. It says the game begins 04/02/12 and ends 05/05/12. There is a no purchase necessary method of entry. 1-800-646-2904.

Probably a limited edition character for the online game. There is no way they have a characyer only for this promotion. Thats the same as throwing millions of dollars away. .....Actually the press release saus they r giving away figures but not limited ediion or anything special. Just a random digure. Still worth winning if u neeeld certain ones. The recording says limites edition but it will not be a rare figure.

What if it is just a repaint of a normal character? Is that possible?

I dunno...it say ARV $8...so it is definitely a real figure for the game.

I think it's just going to be a normal Skylander. I mean it COULD be a repaint but I really doubt it. It'll be interesting to see though!

FYI, there are two different packs out there. The ones I purchased at WalMart today do not have the option to "win" a skylander figure. The cards have different steps on them. My original card has 3 steps, step 2 being "see if you've won a limited edition skylanders figure". (no $1 off coupon). The ones from WalMart have only 2 steps....enter the code, unlock the online game....make sure your bag says "WIN" in the circle on the front...and not "$1 off"!!!

I bought them at Shaw's Supermarket...sticking with the purple flavor mix. I just bought a bag, entered the code...and it says I am a winner!!! I am two for two!!!

Mcdonalds wouldn't be a bad idea for mcdonals where they have repaints of skylanders like erupter as grimace , whirlwind as birdy, wreakingball as the mcnuggets, someone as hamburgler.

I'm actually surprised that a fast food chain hasn't hopped onto the Skylanders bandwagon yet. They have a ton of characters to choose from. Like a Spyro that shoots a little fireball out of his mouth, a Stealth Elf that flips over, etc.

You know what would be totally boss if they released Skylanders promo stuff with healthy food. So I wouldn't get fat trying.

Beware...those codes only unlock online game play. It does not give you an entry to win a character!

There is a game card and coupon for $1 off a skylander figure....in the Walmart bags. You redeem your code at www.skylanders.com/FritoLayAdventure. It just says "Unlock your FREE Skylanders game". I didn't redeem those codes yet...so I have no idea what it "unlocks". The non-walmart purchased bags contain a code to unlock the same gameplay...BUT in addition, give you a chance to WIN a "limited edition skylanders figure". Those codes are redeemed at www.skylanders.com/FritoLayCharacter. I had two of those codes, and won both times. I searched all over for more of those...and they seemed scarce!!! Thinking of grabbing a few more tomorrow...before they totally disappear. The entry ends in a month...so I doubt they will be restocking this promo once they are gone!!!

the online game code is for use in spyro's universe and unlocks a race minigame. i'm in canada so i won't get one of the codes up here

What stores sell these besides wal mart? None of my grocery stores have them? No way frito lay releases their own variant. I still call BS on this one.

Walmart only has the coupon/online game promotion. I have only located the enter to win ones in only one of the many supermarket chains we have here. Walmart-no, Price Chopper-no, Target-no, Market Basket-?, Shaw's-YES. Minimal quantities at that.

Ok, to summarize so we have all the infos in one post.

There's 2 (3) promotions going on.

1) Walmart Promo: The Frito-Lay packs at Walmart have a code and a coupon for $1 off a figure. Using the code online will open up access to the mini game "Runes Run" on Skylanders Universe.

2) Regular Frito-Lay promo: There seems to be an alternate package instead of the one with the $1 logo on the front, rather, it has a "WIN!" logo. Inside is the same code, but this one will have the chance to win a figure. There seems to be 2 possible ones to win though. One promotion claims that there's 11,000+ prizes and that the winners will get a "Skylander character". (So, more than likely, just a random figure). The other one is for a "Flocked" Stump Smash, which claims there's only about 7,000 of.

Walmart seems to be the only one to carry the special bags, but a few have found them at other locally owned supermarket chains. (The ones with the WIN on them) You also don't have to buy anything.

It seems to be the same promo, however, so you can probably only call once a day for either of them.

Yup, no purchase is necessary, but I'd guess if you buy more bags you'd have a bigger chance of winning.

Dunno what it will look like, but we figured out "flocked" means that velvet looking stuff you see on jewelry boxes.
