For as popular as it is, is it worth the cost? Also, yay topic #2000!

That's like asking if comic books and ccg's are worth the money. It's a collectable hobby with a fun video game element...I say yes but that's my opinion. You should be able to pick up the core game for a reasonable amount at this point. Try that and if you like it start collecting the figures.

This is how I got hooked ...

I wanted a new 3DS game , and Target had it on sale for 40$ so I figured why not ... looked interesting and I played Spyro when I was a kid
Then I was out at the mall one day with my Roommate, stopped by TRU for fun and since then I've been like to like 50 stores over the past month looking for them.


Money wise - I kinda wish I had all my money back. It starts with the 50$ Starter pack, then you justget 1 figure for 9-10$ to see what its like... then another .. then just one more ... then you just want one of each element to play the game fully ... then you love an Element and want all characters of said element .. then you want all the expansion levels.

A few weeks into it your girlfriend thinks your insane and your friends are wondering what is so great about some kids game.

200$+ later you have most of what you want until they release more - then you find yourself at TRU at 9AM on a Wednesday morning..


.. wasn't until today that I finished my goal - I wanted Hex, ChopChop, Cynder, and Ghost Roaster + the 4 Adventure Packs
Had Pirate and Crypt 2 weeks ago, got DP last Wednesday, got EOI this Sunday.
Finally finished ...

Is the game worth it? I would say the challenge of getting the figures you want is more-so of the fun than the game itself. Its given me something to do for the past month ...


Honestly - save yourself the time, the money, and the sanity and go buy 5-6 other games heh...
