as great as i think this game is, i also think not having individual story arcs for each character is a major flaw. even if there were 32 *slightly* different endings would have been good enough for me, or give them some dialogue that differs for each character.

it kind of makes me feel like they're all a bunch of mindless good-guy foot soldiers. for the price we all end up paying i really hope this gets addressed in one or more sequels.

The only thing I've noticed is for Spyro/Gil/Triggs. On the first chapter when Hugo instructs you to put a character on the portal, he will specifically react to the starter pack characters. All the others he refers to as "Skylander".

I'd like the character you use to appear in the ending, although they'd have to create 32 different animations, since those are fully cgi'd.

It would be nice if there was a bit more in the way of differences between how the game treats characters... there is that kid in the ruins, he treats all Skylanders differently but he is very minor. Maybe Gurglefin should react differently to Gill Grunt, they are the same species afterall... something like that would be nice.

Unfortunately this game is a 'format' now... they know they can make a ton of money for doing just what they do now, I doubt we'll see any drastic changes between this and the Giants... maybe as interest fades the franchise will have to come up with a new 'hook' to keep people buying but for now they're not going to put extra effort in to make nice little details like that... but heck... who knows, maybe I'm wrong. It does happen lol

They're all working toward the same goal - restoring the Core of Light and defeating Kaos. There's no reason for a different (even slightly different) story arc for each figure.

It would be nice to have a little more personalization DURING the game, similar to what spyroflame mentioned. You interact with a lot of non-playable characters during the game - it would be cool if they referenced the active Skylander(s) when they talk to them.

this is gill grunt story:
"Gill Grunt was a brave soul who joined the Gillmen military in search of adventure. While journeying through a misty lagoon in the clouds, he met an enchanting mermaid. He vowed to return to her after his tour. Keeping his promise, he came back to the lagoon years later, only to learn a nasty band of pirates had kidnapped the mermaid. Heartbroken, Gill Grunt began searching all over Skylands. Though he had yet to find her, he joined the Skylanders to help protect others from such evil, while still keeping an ever-watchful eye for the beautiful mermaid and the pirates who took her."

i thought the mermaid was in pirate seas but i was wrong. i hope she will be in skylanders giant.
