Probly as they're so new and not so desirable at the moment, nope. I have however seen the official Baby Mario ones, so they should be pretty good quality

They're nice, but it seems crazy that the retail on these is $11.99! That's $2.00 more than a single character pack at TRU!

Hnnnghh. They're so chibi-licious.
I think I'll get the Spyro one. It's crazy that like, 3 years ago there was absolutely no Spyro merch out there. Now we got all sorts of variations and whatnot. And I'd kill for this to be real.

It would be awesome if the figures on the stylus could come off and somehow you could play with them in game. Kinda like the opposite to giants, minis!

I would love to get them for my kids (they have DSes), but not at that price point.
Hopefully they go down to something realistic so they can be stocking stuffers for Christmas this year. Also hoping my kids are still into Skylanders by December. You never know when they'll get bored with something.

Way too expensive to be practical, and no in-game bonuses for owning them. I won't be partaking here either. Lack of in-game functionality is more or less where the line is drawn on my end.

Back on topic. If the price of the styluses was say two dollars (maybe even three but that's really pushing it) I would buy exactly two of them for my kids to find in their stockings this Christmas.
I mean they love their DSes and they love Skylanders so it's worth a few bucks to make them squeal when they find them. But c'mon now. How are these things worth anywhere near the $11 price point they're asking for? I mean really.

If there ever was a special edition 3Ds I think I would want to pick one up!

nope, you need what's called a capacitive stylus for that, is mimics the capacitance of the human finger. the 3ds screen is just a big pressure sensor, so any old chunk of plastic with a sharp tip will work. |

#27 Posted: 15:48:49 23/02/2012
They're kinda cute but I have to say pretty impractical. I can see them breaking very easily and at that price it'd not be a good idea to use them. When I pre-ordered Pokémon Diamond and Pearl I got Dialga and Palkia styli/styluses (aparently both terms are correct). My husband used the Palkia and he is kinda heavy handed and careless so I wasn't overly suprised when the figure broke off his stylus but I'm obsessively careful with my own things and even my Dialga lost his tail fringe/plume.
I would suggest that if you buy any of these to either not use it or be very careful with it... if they were cheaper it wouldn't be so bad but $11.99 (£7.64) is too much to spend on something like that if it's only going to break if you use it. That said, I have seen GameMaster78's collection so I imagine he will probably keep them mint in their boxes.

I really don't care for the way they look and the Stylus looks bulky and top heavy. I prefer smaller and light weight Styli but I do have that Dialga Stylus that you're talking about, Deandria and it's very fragile and flimsy ( the tail on mine is about to fall off yet I only used it once.) I'm afraid that these Styli are going to be just as fragile despite their price. I wonder why they cost more than the actual individual Skylanders, if they were $6.99, then I might purchase one.

Alright just got them in......
I am still really not sure why these are so much more???? Nintendo ones that are similar are only $9.99??? Maybe because there are too many hands in the cookie jar??? Power A, Nintendo, and Skylanders???? Still a little much!!!! $11.99???? That being said, they are actually pretty well done. For how small they are, they have pretty good little paint jobs. They are also not as top heavy as you would think. Have a nice light weight to them and seem very solid at the same time. Most of the weight is in the pen part not the Character on top! Have not tested the bobble head action because I have not opened them. Not yet..... I give them 6.9 out of 10...would have been higher but not a good price point at all.

I saw all three when I did my usual tru run today an reflexively grabbed them all. While I was walking around looking for figures on sale I could scave the joints out of for my skylanders articulation projects I took a good look at them. They lack detail and the paint job leaves much to be desired. I put them back and was a bit saddened by how they treated the IP. Pretty dissapointed.

They're up for pre-order in the UK; they're on the Play.com website for a more reasonable £7.99 (about the same price as a Skylander figure), and you can zoom in on them for a closer look:

You do realise that £7.99 is $12.66 right? So more expensive... although not as much more expensive than our Skylanders are compared to the US.

#37 Posted: 18:19:50 03/03/2012
I am aware of that.
What I am saying is that the people in the US are saying about the styluses being $11.99 when their figures are only $9.99. In contrast, the figures in the UK are about £7.99 (sometimes even £9.99), whereas the styluses are £7.99. You can't really put conversions into place because, at the end of the day, a UK person can't buy something at the US price without importing (which would make it more expensive in the end with fees and shipping). I am talking purely in the comparative sense that the US have to pay more for a stylus than a Skylander, whereas we're not paying more than the price for a Skylander, which was what I mentioned. |

Okay, I see what you meant now... fair point. Though it is still unfair... I can't imagine it costs more (or at least much more) to get the figures from China where they're made, to the Netherlands (where they're packaged for EU sale) then to the UK than it would China to wherever it is in the US they're packaged to a state that's on the other side of the country... *grump*

$11?
Pass. Besides, I generally don't like the kind of stylus that can't fit in the DS/3DS. I don't want to lug around a stylus that big along with the device itself. I'd be better off using the stylus it comes with. |
