Wow, really? I haven't seen the FF fanbase a lot, but sometimes I do see them in unrelated places.
I always paid more attention to the MLP side.

And Dark52 hasn't done anything yet.

This site has really been the worst I've seen with *obsessive* Pony fans.

This is the only place I have seen the clueless obsess over stupid horses. Mybe that is because this is the only forum I frequint that allows kiddies.

I think overall Final Fantasy fans have been taken down a few pegs because I think even they are starting to realize that nearly all of the games are rubbish. (I liked 4 and 9 though) It's why I spread the range to "Square-Enix" fans because nearly ALL of their games have this rabid crazy fanbase to them. The World Ends with You, Chrono Trigger, and of course Kingdom Hearts all have the horrid fanbase of whiny anime obsessed people who will tear your face off if you DARE call out the fact that Kingdom Hearts doesn't at ALL take advantage of the fun they could have with a Final Fantasy/Disney crossover, and instead decides to make it full of angsty preteen kids that the pedophilic women can gush over. Or if you say you've never played Chrono Trigger before, you get a tidal wave of forum posts commanding you to play it or have your arms removed. Or they'll launch a bomb at your house that explodes into a cloud of concentrated hatred when you call out TWEWY for having a main character that is completely unlikable to the point where you have no desire to progress the story at the risk of punching your DS screen in the hopes that you'll break the little creep's nose.

Of course I'm never actually THIS harsh to them directly, but the reactions are always the same no matter how tactfully you say you don't like the game. Square-Enix fans are insane, and you should avoid conflict with them at all costs.

I have never played nor do I have the desire to play chrono trigger.

What the heck was that I just listened too Is that really in the new Final Fantasy game or is that something someone made on Youtube? I don't know who composes or rights the new music for the game but I prefer Nobuo Uematsu's work, especially the Final Fantasy 9 soundtrack and Techno de Chocobo from FF 6 is pretty good.

Why does this topic exist?

It's really hard to like JRPGs in a world where Mass Effect, Skyrim, and yes, even Skylanders, exist. They were great in the '90s, but refused to change with the times, and now, Final Fantasy just seems so outdated.

The last JRPGs I enjoyed aside from Pokemon and Mario RPGs were the first two Golden Sun games, (the first one far more than the second) and Magical Starsign on the DS.

Edit: Shoot, I forgot about Ys Seven and Trails in the Sky. :/ I never finished Trails in the Sky though. I really liked it, but it was sooooooooo long I couldn't play anymore.

I don't like the guitar part because it sounds like metal rock but I do like the solo Violin part. I'm really not into "metal" style music especially if it's in a Final Fantasy game. I'm glad that I'm not playing these new FF games, I'm not missing out on anything.

^ Your right. Not at all. I only got FFXIII-2 because I was bored of playing Skyrim and 'landers. The graphics are good, but the storyline isn't even worth understanding.

I can feel for ya for liking a game in a series that's widely regarded as garbage by the general public. One can blame TheSpoonyOne for a lot of the Final Fantasy X hate I think. I'm the same way with Kirby's Dream Land 3. For some reason, a lot of people think it's absolutely awful, which is weird because I'd say it's the second best one right after Kirby Super Star. When people bash on Dream Land 3 for stupid reasons, I get a little insane as well.

GAAAH, now I'm back off-topic.
I never really liked Dream Land 3, but Super Star is definately the best Kirby game I've played. Heck, even the remake for the DS is amazing!

I know how you feel, I love Super Mario Sunshine and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Whenever I tell someone that I like those games, they go into a rage fit, have a seizure and then have a cardiac arrest. Their only excuse is that the graphics are "too cartoony". I honestly like the graphics and the games are extremely fun. Super Mario Shine will always be one of my favorite games and I don't care what anyone negatively has to say about it.

Dream Land 3 was kinda, bleh. But every Dream Land title kinda is, except the first one ,imo.

Super Mario Sunshine is better than Galaxy. It always will be.

^ Yes, finally someone who thinks Sunshine is better than Galaxy =)! Galaxy is too "fixed" making it feel more like a fast passed side-scrolling game. I like side scrollers but for a Mario game like Galaxy, I would have preferred a more wide open "overworld" style game that you can explore, such as Mario 64 and Sunshine.

Agreed. Super Mario Sunshine is superior to Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario 64 is a horrible broken mess of a game that seems to get a free pass because it was "revolutionary for the time." Doesn't matter to me how revolutionary it was, it doesn't hold up, and is a virtually unplayable game to those who played Mario Sunshine before it. I've been playing Mario ever since the NES, and yet somehow we never owned Mario 64 with our N64. It's a good thing too, or else I'd be one of the numerous sheep praising such an atrocious game.

The soundtrack was awesome though.

Sunshine is the most fun you'll ever have controlling Mario, because there are so many acrobatics and techniques you can do that you can make Mario more athletic looking than any other game character out there. I really wish they'd bring back the spin-jump, because once you got good at it, you could exploit it like crazy and make the levels way easier than they would have been without it.

Though Mario Galaxy 1 still has the best video game soundtrack ever if you ask me.

I do agree with you about Super Mario 64 even though I played it before Sunshine, it does get a lot of praise when I could have been a better or longer game. Super Mario Sunshine also had a great sound track, I also like the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 soundtracks.

Actually, if I recall correctly, that song was a collaboration between Nobuo Uematsu and the guy who did the vocal tracks for Devil May Cry 3, Shootie HG. It's a joke track played only when you ride a certain chocobo in the chocobo races.

Wow this topic went everywhere and back. Alot of hate floating around here. I love the new FF games, I do see how it's not for everyone but to each his own. I'm not one to force ideals or opinions on anyone. I like games I can play for 80+ hours and still have stuff to do. I'm big on character building, which is probably why I enjoy pokemon, skyrim, and FFXIII-2. Hell that's probably why I enjoy Skylanders I like to build different characters although somewhat limited in skylanders I still enjoy it.

Can't we all just get along? To the pony fans be careful to relate your topics to skylanders or put them in the appropriate listing because the topic natzis are everywhere. To the pony-haters... why even click on this topic? If the topic doesn't interest you then by all means don't open it... so simple. The reason this topic is still at the top of the list, not to mention 2 pages, is from all the negative people bawling about it. If this topic only contained constructive posts it would be about 5 posts long and already halfway down the recent post list.

The pony fandom, I always found, is worse than the Spyro fandom and much more annoying.

Overexposure can kill anything, which is something fanbases don't seem to understand. I find that the less one shoves something in someone's face, the more likely the person will eventually find it on their own and enjoy it.
