You're trolling at Slam Bam all because of his Soul Gem appearance and ability?

He's a great and powerful character, and I was overjoyed to finally find him, but his Soul Gem ability seems so....pointless. I mean, you have ones like Whirlwind that don't benefit Whirlwind alone at all, but at LEAST they have a function somewhere. Slam Bam...you get a pair of goggles, a slightly nicer surfboard and slightly faster surfing.

I still like Slam Bam the most out of all three Water elements I have however.

Slam Bam's soul gem is good.

I have to admit. It barely does anything, but gives him goggles.

At least it does something. There are some worse soul gems.

Like which ones? It literally does nothing but give him some asccessories. No buffs, no new attacks, nada.

I love the goggles. They make him look like Funky Kong. You cannot deny the funk!

... Seriously though, Slam Bam is powerful enough already. I actually like that they would devote an upgrade here and there to fun over functionality, and on such a beefy character, he can more than afford it.

It is the worst Soul Gem in the game ''so far'' because it does actually nothing besides adding goggles! (Hellyeah) Surfing speed and distance as for 3200 Gold progression is a laugh. Surfing speed and distance is a laugh itself too. But hey, we still have those goggles.

Whirlwind's is worse.

I found it pretty useful as I play a lot in Coop with my boyfriend and he's a bit clumsy.

Whirlwind at least has a use for hers in Co-op.

Yes it does.

If you shoot her Rainbow Rockets at your co-op partner it heals them. VERY useful for Co-Op play.

^If their is a 2 vs 2 battle mode on Skylanders Giants, Whirlwind will be a monster.

Eh. I'd rather a character be a little faster, even if it isn't by much then having something that's effectively useless for a single player.

It makes him surf faster. But I do agree on the goggles.

It just turns him into a joke character. His preview video makes him look so amazingly brutal and beast-like, then the Soul Gem....robs him of his brute look.

I agree with the OP a soulgem that gives you goggles and make you move over water faster is kinda lame compared to some of the others. Double Troubles is kind of up there too...oh look now I can walk on water....yah for our side.

I'm getting Double Trouble tomorrow to complete the current released collection....looks like another bad Soul Gem boost. THAT may be worse than Slam Bam.

Allows him to move over water. Not useless at all, unless you're strictly PVP, in which case, the goggles seem like a major upgrade.

That soul gem ability is useful. Going over water is fun.

It's actually really great. It's basically giving the ability for Dub Trub and his monstrous power to get you ANYWHERE.

In double Trouble's case I honestly don't know what they could have done differently since he's sooooo broken now anyway. He really is one of my favs (he's in the top 3).

That purple ghost that follows you around constantly is annoying. I reset her to get rid of it and didn't bother upgrading it.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that you barely have water and when you do speed isn't really necessary. But yeah, it does seem completely useless. Of course, I don't have him, but still.

except now I'm wondering--does Slam Bam's upgrade make his dash move faster? I was assuming surfing just applied to his water movement power.

I haven't tried it on money, but it doesn't work on food for me. But at least Whirly's can be used/spammed to make it worth while in 2-player mode. W. Ball's is just ugh... 10 HP is nothing! If this can be done to ALL enemies when they're defeated, that's fine, but the only things I can usually get are the cyclops and those chompy things. I almost ashamed I bought it now.
