I realize most people on this forum are going to try and buy them all, but are there any Skylanders that you don't intend on buying? Ones that for whatever reason you just don't want? For me I really don't care about the legendary figures. When I buy the rest of them, and don't have the legendaries, I'm still going to consider it a complete set since they're the same dang toys as their regular counterparts, just with different stats and a palette swap.

I was originally gonna not buy a whole chunk of them because they just didn't look appealing to me. However, I soon had the idea to just go and buy the ones that were cool and worry about the other ones now.

I guess since the shortage I've just been out to get everything I can really. I mean, I've came this far in getting some so I might as well get as many as possible.

I'm with you, DinoHex. I doubt I will bother with the legendaries. It's just an excuse to suck even more money out of us from a hobby that is already rather costly. I don't mind paying for the legitimate items (especially when expansions keep rolling out), but for what are essentially doubles? No thanks.

I also probably won't bother trying nab Dark Spyro. It basically falls into the same category.

I had no choice as to get Dark Spyro since I actually bought the 3DS game before I bought the console one. In the 3DS game, Dark Spyro plays completely differently to regular Spyro, and I'd say he's actually a fair bit better than regular Spyro. But yeah, he IS just a palette swap when it comes to the actual toy. Couldn't they have at least had him be a palette swap, but in a different pose? I mean, considering he DOES play completely different in the 3DS game, you think they would have done something to make the toy a bit more unique.

at first i wasnt planning on buying anymore characters then the three that came with the starter pack, but then i saw zap and he looked cool so i bought him. (i didnt have any idea at all what skylanders was like or anything, didnt do research, NOTHING!) so then when we(me and my husband) were playing the game we realized we needed one of each elemental skylander to get "everything". So then the hunt began and one day i gave my husband games to trade in at gamestop to afford the stealth elf, wrecking ball, and sonic boom triple pack, but when he came back he had bought us basically ALL of the skylanders that were available except the legendaries and the wave 3 guys+. So I was super excited and now i want them all lol.

Skylanders I won't buy? 0

Probably the legendaries & variants. Though that may change when I'm face to face with a legendary Trigger Happy lol.

Spyro: Dumb one.
L. Spyro: Accented smart one.

I will not be getting Dark Spyro at all. The only way I can get a gold or silver or the blue ones is if I find them in a store that has decent employees. Other than that, I will get them all.

I will get all of the regular figures (as well as the legendaries/Dark Spyro), but I won't buy any Gold/Silver figures or anything unless I see them in a shop for retail price.

As others have said before, I won't buy the Legendaries because I already own the regular versions of the figures. I also won't buy a gold or silver variant of a figure I already own. If I find a variant of a fig I don't have though, it's mine!

Probably won't buy the legendary Skylanders or Dark Spyro but other then that I will be getting them all!!

I only plan to buy the characters that I personally find to be cool and that I know I will enjoy using in-game. I like to not think of myself as a collection-for-the-sake-of-collection person.
Now, I would say this means by the time i'm done collecting I won't have bought many but- well, it's been surpising me just how fun and collectable these things are!

Not everything in these lists may be necessarily permanent: For example, I was once absolutely certain I would never buy Boomer, but then after hearing about his gameplay and watching some videos I've actually warmed up to him to the point that I'd happily buy him.

I dont plan to buy Zook or Whamshell or Bash or Chop Chop (i have legendaries of the latter) but i dont like the other two.

I forgot to mention in my first post that I REALLY don't want to buy Lightning Rod as he easily has the worst design out of all of them. Seriously, he looks ridiculous. Though I'll probably get him anyways just to have a complete collection. And who knows, he may turn out to be surprisingly good. I wasn't too keen on Boomer or Wrecking Ball when I first got them, but after playing the 3DS game with them, I've warmed up to them. Though I'll still always think of those two and Lightning Rod as being the losers of Skylanders.

I was only looking to buy one of each element. Then I blinked and somehow they all ended up home with me... I blame it on the online game and needing more characters to expand my skylands.

Boomer I totally understand, Hex, I like, But I sort of understand that one. But Bash? Bash is a beast.

As for Stump Smash, you know, I like him. Life is just a one woman show because of Stealth Elf. I really need to make a point to try to use Stump Smash more often.

Yeah, I liked Hex but then I started to prefer other Skylanders to her.
