Amazon.co.uk have these images stocked under their listings for each figure. I thought it seemed a bit odd to use photos of rejected models but interesting as a fan I put the old models next to the current ones so you can see the comparisons more clearly.

I really like the original pose of Wrecking Ball - his current model looks to serious and reptilian when his in-game character is actually very playful and dog-like.

For some reason, i like the prototype WB much better!

It seems like Warnado might have taken place of beta air elemental Wrecking Ball.

nice find aza123neo! very cool to see the prototypes of the figures! They seriously look so much better hand painted.

Interesting, thanks for posting that. I like that Wrecking Ball okay enough (very cool base) but prefer the final versions.

Wow. Some of the figures really went a long way while others remained the same. I think it's funny Dino Rang had sunglasses at one point.

Spyro and Wrecking Ball's prototypes look ten times better than the final versions. The others are just meh, though.

I also love prototype Arbo.

Spyro and Wrecking Ball, definitely!!

Hmm, very interesting all around. Wrecking Ball's looks better, but I LOVE that Air base he's on. The clouds are ok, but if I had to choose I'd want the tornado thing.

Stealth Elf is just....*shudder*. I don't like her with eyes.

Prism Break looks like a giant piece of poop with diamonds on it. Uncanny. Final Design looks leagues better.

Flameslinger looks better too. I like the gold bow, and his face is thinner. It's much less Deep Roy. (That guy that played the Oompa Loopa in the 2005 Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. Seriously, look at that resemblance)

Dino Rang looks chunkier, but the final version also looks better.

The Spyro ones are a travesty. I like the final but some of the protoypes are absolutely perfect. Here's to hoping they're release a line of figures that are just collectable with them in it. Actually, they could legit repackage that into a single pack Spyro. So there's different figures on top. They could in all seriousness do that for every single character, only needing to change the figure, since the data chip is in the base.

if you look at the pic (#18 post 2nd pic) you see what looks like a old boomer with a grey beard

Really like the Spyro prototype, though I also like the final version just fine. I think they should've kept the prototype style as Legendary or Dark Spyro.

Nope that was boomer's prototype version. I personally like that one better, the way boomer is now is just way too goofy form me. And i also think that that Dino-Rang should have had his mouth open in the final product. When its open it gives him edge but when its closed he just has a goofy look on his face

Some of those prototypes really creeped me out.

I posted about the Stealth Elf ages ago, but people kept telling me it was a mod.

Just noticed that the Amazon.co.uk image for Drobot is different. He must have been given a different paint job last minute prior to release. The current model is a vast improvement in my opinion. OP has been updated.

Our other thread that had some pre-release info and whatnot (with the pics of the proto-Spyro) had ones with Drobot. From what it looked like, that was Drobot without the final coat of paint on him.

I actually would prefer the prototype "Wrecking Ball" it looks much better And that spyro figure (Prototype I guess) its just wicked, I'd LOVE to see that on the shelves.

Apparently, wrecking ball was going to be an Air skylander.

I wish the spyro prototype will be a giants remodel!

I don't know if this was said but Game Informer mag showed prototypes of some characters like drill sargeant amongst others.
