I am helping people out bro? I already have a drum account for advertising and making views and subs. This is just to help anyone out that needs it.

Still, the words 'Check out my youtube account' is basically advertising, even if it is Skylanders related.

Given that the only items that the OP has uploaded in their channel are all SL related, I don't see a big issue.

I see your point Aura but it is it really advertising when the poster is not trying to induce readers to non-related material?

After all, if the OP had simply left out the channel URL then there would have been no issue with the other two URLs. A user could then have simply found the OP's other videos, anyway.

I see where the edge is blurred and respect the perspective but I tend to vye on the side of leniency.

The 'Check out my new youtube video account' part kinda threw me off. The appropriate words would be just 'Here are some videos of Slam Bam's skills and Heroic Challenge guide'.

But you kind of are being one. Here are the actual forum rules:

Don't swear or use offensive language.
Minor infractions of this rule will result in the words being censored or the post being deleted. However larger/often occurances of breaking this rule will result in either a temporary or permanent ban from the website. Please completely obscure swear words if you feel you absolutely must use them. That means if, for example, "hello" was a swear word then "h*llo" or "h****" are not sufficient.
Don't spam.
Pointless messages aren't useful, these will be deleted. There is a board specifically for spam but it does still fall under all the other rules, though I am slightly more leniant there. Advertising is counted as spam and is not allowed even on Stuff and Nonsense.
Only be one person
The use of multiple guest names and/or registered accounts to pretend to be more than one person is pointless and will likely confuse any other users of the forum. It is also generally frowned upon to have more than one registered account anyway.
Don't post links to illegal/pornographic material.
It's just in no way approriate for a website based around a game such as Spyro the Dragon. Anyone who does so will be banned immediately. Asking for ROMs will get you a swift ban as well though discussion is allowed as long as you aren't boasting about the fact or you're providing a method for others to get them no matter how cryptic.
Don't troll/flame other users.
Provoking other people intentionally or insulting them is not a good practice and such posts will be deleted.
Responding to these posts is ill-advised especially if they worked on you, instead just report the post.
Don't bump topics.
Topics on this forum do not purge so feel free to post in older topics as long as you have something worth saying; if your post is merely there to bring the topic to the top of the list and you have nothing useful to add to the topic, why would anybody else? This will be regarded as spam.
Posting in old topics that nobody has replied to in months is generally thought of as disruptive, but in the less active game specific forums this is not such an issue.
Be constructive with criticism
If you're going to post negatively in regards to any of the Spyro games (or other series) then give a reason as to why you dislike it. Merely stating the fact you don't like it is pointless and doesn't contribute anything.
Stay on topic
If you wish to discuss something unrelated to the topic then start a new one, in the correct forum of course. Posts that go off-topic will be deleted. Topics that are entirely off-topic will either be deleted or moved to the correct forum.
Don't post in a disruptive manner.
Writing entirely in captials, alternating capitals, captials at the start of every word, bold, italic or 1337 speek will be deleted or edited as it makes it difficult to read and is pointless to post in such a manner.
Use the edit button.
Posting several times in a row back to back is pointless, disruptive and a waste of space. Use the Edit button below your posts in order to ammend your previous post with what you would have posted, the topic is still marked as having new content.
Don't misuse the Report Post feature.
Reporting posts that have nothing wrong with them just wastes my time and will mean the removal of your ability to report.
Please use English
This is an English website and very few people here will be able to understand you if you use any other languages, this rule applies only to the general use of the forums, you can of course use other languages just not all of the time.

Abide by the above rules and you'll do fine here.

Advertising is listed as spam and that you aren't supposed to do it but I don;t believe he's trying to spam in this post anymore than your sig is. He's just posting his footage with a link directing people to his other Skylander videos as well as the Slam Bam footage. I don't see any violation here. Unless you are aware of some unwritten rule that defines what advertising actually is. Thanks o.p. for the footage.

We are allowed to put link to our yutube accounts on our signatures, they don't count. It's been like that since darkSpyro was made.

I saw it and I think this was all just a general context issue. I believe the o.p. was simply using that wording to show people his other Skylander videos and not to misuse forum policy. However, in fairness you can see where other people are coming from - your sig is there in every post and the contents may or may not be relevant to the topic. The OP mentioned a summary view of his uploaded SL videos which were all directly relevant to the topic (which they created).

A large component of my professional life it to get organisations to challenge their "monkey syndrome" of "that's the way we have always done it". I am more than happy to elaborate on the monkey story, if that clarifies but it is not directly relevant to the OP's topic and no matter how succinct I try to be, it is not brief.

As a writer and actor, I like to take the most interesting angle. I could go with you and say " OMG! It's advertising! Call the forum police!" or I could defend and say you are as well. When it gets down to it, it's what's morally right.

Honestly, I dont feel that either one is advertising. My definition of advertising is as follows -

Advertising : the promotion of goods or services with the intent of soliciting a transaction for said goods or services.

Since neither one of you is selling anything, its not advertising. Take this example :

In that example I am not advertising anything at all. I dont want to sell anything, I am not looking for money. But in this example its a little different story :

Actually, to be pedantic, the help files *do* state, in some degree, what to put and not put in your sig.

It says no advertising and it says no offensive language. It does not exclude sigs from these criteria.

To say that sigs are excluded also alludes to other rules may or may not be also excluded - naughty lang, for example.

Now, in fairness, I went to Aura's channel and whilst I did not check every video of the 180+ there, I could not find anything non-SL related. That is not to say, however, that someone may not use their sig to reference a youtube channel which could contain adverts / solicitation / references to buying products.

What am I trying to say? Well, I do not construe mentioning of a channel as advertising, I would use the contents of said channel to derive that conclusion.
