Three, sadly...

1. Spyro. We asked Activision for a replacement, and it took 6 weeks to arrive. We ended up just going back to JB Hifi (where we got the game) and swapping the broken Spyro for a non-broken one. Cept then, THE VERY NEXT DAY, the replacement arrived in the post from Acti. It was so annoying.

I had a dead Drill-Sergeant that was later replaced at the store were it is was bought, and recently a Chop-Chop died (both showing the bad toy on the portal, message).

Today I found this video on youtube,

And my Chop-Chop was alive again.

The trick works on a PC version of the game.
Start the game and later place the dead skylander on the portal.
Then, using ALT-TAB combination, switch from Skylanders to another program, like the browser or something.
You don't have to wait for the portal to turn off. Just unplug it from the USB port, and plug it again.
Using ALT-TAB again, return to the game, and your dead skylander may well be returned from the grave. My Chop-Chop did.

For a while, I thought my Dark Spyro was dead on arrival.

Then I moved the portal itself and it turned out that it was a signal problem. Whoopsie.

I had a broken Drobot and SonicBoom, so I just baught some new ones, switched out the packaging, and took the broken ones back.

We said to the salesperson that they didn't work, and now they're on their way back to the development center to get fixed up.

Whats the deal with activision replacement do i have to send trigger happy to them as i have sent for a replacement but nothing has come up to print off im in the uk

Could a skylander be damaged (gameplay wise) if the figure was pulled off of the stand?

I wouldn't do this, but the idea of placing one skylander on another skylander's stand sounded like an interesting way to troll people.

Aww man... If only I had known that when my Spyro died... Then I wouldn't have had to have waited 6 weeks for the stupid replacement..... Dammit....

i made this post in the hope that others get aware of other methods to fix their skylanders(than sending them to activision) and to see how many really is dead... if broken its repairable, if dead then probably cause maybe ... eaten by dog, careless usage of sledge hammer, evilbay scalped or maybe even got driven over by bulldozer... you never know.

as mention before only proper method to fix broken skylanders is to use the 3ds...

^You don't send it TO activision, they send YOU a replacement. So you end up with 2 of the same character. Cept only 1 works...

okay, always thought they had some sort of exchange service... anyway if you know someone with the 3ds and the skylanders(or you have the 3ds) you can fix your broken(if not dead) and have two of same working...

that is dead.... broken is when you cant read the figurine on the portal (faulty save) but can be fixed with the 3ds...

Yeah, the non-exchange thing is weird. It worries me because it makes me curious about how many people discovered this and tried to abuse the system, though I'm sure after a while they'd notice something.

I've got two Wrecking Balls and two Trigger Happys now because of this. When we get a 3DS I'll reset them so I have two playable one of each.

None of mine are broken, although two are 'dead'- or as I prefer to say, injured: Very soon after buying Zap his leg began to continuously fall off, but could still be put back on, though it would still later fall off again. Then there is Hex, who since I bought has had her arm holding the skull very wobbly, and a couple of days ago it fell off completely.

My spyro but it seems to be alive in SSU

So far none. I am hoping that it won't happen either. The video is definitely helpful just in case.

One sadly... I was tyring to beat a hard level with all 3 stars, and I was about to finish it, and I then died with Hex, so i sorta eat her head off. Now I regret it.
