Like I have said in other posts and threads....I'm not a huge Spyro fan! Never really played a Spyro game before.
Love Skylanders tho.

I am willing to give a Spyro game a go!
Is there a certain Spyro game I should try??? One you guys and girls would recommend????
I have an Xbox 360 and 3D's.

The only Spyro game for the 360 is Dawn of the Dragon. There's also a Hero's Tail for the original Xbox, which I enjoy playing more.

However, if you have a friend with a PS1 (or compatible PS2/3), I'd recommend either Ripto's Rage/Gateway to Glimmer or Year of the Dragon.

Besides Skylanders, there's the Legend of Spyro series and the Classics.

Personally, I'd recommend the Classics (1-5, which are Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage, Year of the Dragon, Enter the Dragonfly, and A Hero's Tail).

The first 3 are on the PS1.
The last 2 are on the PS2.

The Legend series (A New Beginning, The Eternal Night, Dawn of the Dragon) are going to be much easier to find, so will AHT and EtD, but if you want 1-3 you might need to order it.

Although if you're going to play DotD, I'd recommend playing the other two first, so you can get what's going on (but then again, it's easy to get what's going on, it has a predictable plot).
Although there's a lot of plotholes in DotD as well...

And you're welcome!

I meant especially for 360, though.

If you're a big fan of Skylanders, the Spyro games that are most like that are the original 3 for the PS1 (Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage/Gateway to Glimmer, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon), especially the last two. Spyro: A Hero's Tail might also be to your liking (and it's available for Xbox). I'm not sure how much you would like any of the Legend games, but LoS: A New Beginning at least has some of the bright colors of Skylanders, if nothing else.

Alas, there really aren't any Skylanders-like Spyro games for the DS (or any very good ones at all).

So, yeah. If you love Skylanders, you're most likely going to enjoy the original Spyro games if you can get them or A Hero's Tail. The Legend games have their charm, but the gameplay is button-mashing combat and the story is very dark (and the last two games are reeeeally glitchy).

I do the same thing (heck, I've got a couple Spyro games I can't even play, I just had to have them smilie). A Hero's Tail is pretty easy to find in used game stores (well, the PS2 and GameCube versions are) but finding the PS1 games or the LoS titles used is next to impossible. Your best bet with those is to just get them off Amazon.com or eBay (they sell used fairly cheap on-line).

Which two games are available on Xbox Market Place?

Dawn of the Dragon & A New Beginning think these are the two available on Xbox market place???
Think I might get them both....we will see? Will try one first to see if I like it.
Still playing Skylanders on 3D's but want something to play on my console too.

For goodness sake, get a PSone online cheap and discover what made Spyro great in the first place.

If you do get those games, you'll want to start with A New Beginning. The Legend games have an interconnected story and Dawn of the Dragon just assumes you've played the others and makes no sense at all without the back story.

There are a lot of pretty fun games for Sony. I'd recommend finding a PS2 (make sure it works, but it shouldn't be very expensive) since it can play both PS1 and PS2 games. That way you're not spending a bunch of money just for three games you may or may not enjoy.
