Question, though: d'you think it's better to concentrate on a few characters (say, one of each element) rather than buying doubles? Was thinking about getting Drobot, Zap and Whirlwind, but...

start with the 8 of the different elements first... so you get the full game. that is the most important, i think...

I don't think so. Why bying a charakter you don't like just because of his element? I just bought the ones I like. (exept Bash - but I needed an earth skylander and he's the only one I could deal with).

So it doesn't matter to me if I have doubles. If I want a skylander with an element I already have: so what? n__n

I also recently ordered a Sonic Boom figure last week since they are sold out everywhere in stores close to where I live. I should be getting Sonic Boom sometime next week.

Other then that, though, I am planning to get Chop Chop, Ignitor, The 3 Legendaries, Camo, and probably Sunburn.

okay, i guess you dont want to play all the parts of the game then.... but you miss out on the hats that can improve your character, puzzles and other fun(you sure need 8 elements for this)...

also other things of important is the heroic challenges, because here you can improve your character even more(after level 10 and all upgrades)... if you want to take speed, armor, critical hit and element powers even further...

so its just more to it than just picking the 'cute' and 'adorable' skylanders.... because if you want to make your favorite character stronger you will need the ugly skylanders to help you...

I just said it doesn't matter to me if I get all elements first before I buy skylanders with an element I already have
You see: I bought Bash even I don't really like him. All elements except earth have Skylanders that I like. That's why I'm waiting for these charakters to come out instead of bying one of each element first.

We picked up Hex, Wrecking Ball, and Dino Rang. Hex is by far our favorite! She has a great combination of attacks.

I recently got Sonic Boom (awesome), Eruptor (meh...), Bash (but he stopped working the day I got him, so I swapped him with...) Drobot.

Its easier to list what I *DONT* own haha these figures are addictive to collect!

Ones I dont have:
-Zap
-Wrecking Ball
-Hex
-Dino-Rang

Went to 3 walmarts, 3 targets, two gamestops, one toysrus and a local video game store and NONE of them had any wave two figures. This time of season, most stores had few (if any) single packs at all! Been pushing off buying zap because I want to buy the three pack with him, hex, and dino-rang.

These I dont have "yet" because my girlfriend is saving them til Xmas:
-The 3DS starter pack
-Legendary character pack (toys-r-us)
-Prism Break
-Drill Sergeant

Hmm... when I think about it, I guess you're right. Perhaps I'm now going to get him too

I'm pretty sure we have all of the ones that have been released so far. This was no easy feet - we had to hit several stores to find Wrecking Ball, Hex and Dino-Rang. =)

Here in South africa its hard to find all of them, it took me till last friday to get all thats releases here, Im still waiting for , and to be released here. I can just hope it will happen soon.
