I looked at some Skylanders playthrough footage.

The game impresses me to some degree in every aspect, except for the gameplay. I found myself skipping through a lot of it, as it seemed too slow moving and repetitive. Cynder does look like one of the more fun characters, and I'd be interested in using her, but the game in general doesn't appeal to me enough to want to get it yet. I already have my sights set on another expensive game, so I won't be getting this for a while. Maybe after Christmas, if at all.

it says that Sparx comes in the limited edition adventure pack and not the Dragon's Peak one ? CONFUSION but still 1 more adventure pack

^It's much, much faster than DotD was, and less repetitive too. However, if you have a slow Skylander, then yes, it could be considered slower. Use a fast Skylander (I use Ghost Roaster due to his attack) and it speeds things up.

It looks a bit faster than DotD, but less combo focused, which I don't like. I prefer fighting games that allow you to come up with a lot of combos, and allow you to juggle enemies, which Skylanders lacks, due to no jumping on the consoles.

I, in a way, like the no-jumping. Which is odd, since in every game I'm jump-happy. It looks like it makes the combat a bit harder since you can't simply jump over things. It also makes you need to do more puzzles to reach higher areas.

Is Skylanders doing 'good', as such? Or has it sold worse then expected? :/

I like the game...at least SSU anyways.

Now I REALLY want to buy the real Skylanders. Maybe...maybe I can buy it on my computer? I already have the system...so I don't need to buy anything but the game...

Apparently the PC version is really laggy, even on the best of gaming systems.

Yeah, I've only done combos with Stealth Elf, and that wasn't anything to write home to.
I actually don't like combos anyway though, so for me, that's a bonus. I just like to, you know.....

I like when the two are combined, like in DWG3.

So I use combos and crap to take the field, and when the field is mine, I can just tip one enemy mobile suit into the others, and then KABLAAAAAMMMM!!!

Good news is, I might get it for PC. Its for sale at Walmart for 59.99 USD.
I have 25.00 USD Walmart gift card....its a start.

That way I spend less money than if I bought the Xbox and the game.
Only thing is, PC is currently offline, and parents are in 0 hurry to reinstate it.

So no SSU level ups. At least not in the near future. Oh well, even if it is awhile, I'm not getting SSA anytime soon

It's not that I don't trust game critics... It's just I don't trust smaller ones. They are easier to manipulate. Stuff like IGN, Gamespot, etc... those cost quite a pretty penny. Besides, their reviews can be hilarious.

It wasn't really directed towards, you....but ok.

Here's the thing though: Why would Activision pay small time reviewers money? People often look at IGN, Gamespot, or Game Informer much more than other reviewers. It may cost more, but to pay them to give the game a good review would bring a bigger profit.

Because Activision is too cheap to pay them off. Why spend a few million per reviewer for three reviewers when you can nab ten per mil?

^In the same breath, we can ask: Why spend so much money marketing Skylanders and MW3?

One had a big launch event/"slumber party". The other had a giant event with paintball, $1,000,000 competition prize, gift bags with a special edition of the game and other cool ****, a real life Burger Town, and both Dropkick Murphys and Kanye West performing.

It's so they can get hype for the game, and therefore more sales. They're willing to spend millions of dollars on the events I listed above, but not willing to spend a few hundred or thousands on a game reviewer?

But think... Which will sell more? SSA or MW3?

Websites like IGN and Gamespot are paid more, not necessarily by the publisher but by their bosses, to give a game a good review considering it boosts relations with the publisher and developer. A smaller website on the other hand won't have this.

If a website doesn't get as much attention as websites such as IGN or Gamespot, it's not viable to 'bribe' smaller websites to give a game a good review. I would know this because I co-own a small gaming website; we give honest reviews as consumers and not corporate officials. We gain nor loose nothing depending on our review, and this is the same for all small websites that go under the radar of large publishers.

Battlefield 3, DUH!

I'm not wasting my hard-earned money on some CoD game that's the same thing each time. Shoot things. Be unrealistically immortal. Be better than your enemies without skill. Carry more ammo than you need. Don't throw a grenade properly.

At least in Battlefield 3 you can drive vehicles.

^My prediction is that Battlefield 3 will sell more with PC gamers, whereas MW3 will sell more with console gamers. Seeing how consoles are more popular than the PC nowadays, that means MW3 has a bigger chance of winning than BF3.

Don't ask me what side I'm on, because I honestly intend to get both games (even if my PC can't run BF3).

It's a correction, since most of the older crowd (and PC gamers) would gravitate towards BF3, not MW3.
