...Is it worth a buy, and what system would you reccommend (console or 3DS)?
Sorry 'bout the topic, but I'm torn with this game and it's not exactly cheap, either!

Personaly I would say yes, I own it for the Wii and 3DS. I really love collecting aspect of the figures and then leveling them up in game. The Wii version I would say is better simply becuase it "feels" like the main game and the 3ds version "feels" like a bit of a side game, but it is still really fun.
Then you can use your figures online with the Spyro's Universe site so it makes me feel less guilty spending money on figures scince I can use them in 3 places (online, wii, 3DS) and all of it is fun. |

Even though I don't have either version of the game yet, I still suggest you get the console version. The 3DS verison is the exact same price of the console version, and to me that's not worth it (it's almost double the price of a standard 3DS game).
Eventually I'll get the 3DS version, but I'm going to wait for a price drop and just get the console version now. I'll suggest you do the same. |

Thanks for making a topic like this! I'm still iffy about buying this game, with all the talk of old characters coming back, I'm just so curious so I'm wondering if I should get it. There aren't many reviews yet, so I'm just going on what other people say on this topic.

Honestly, yes. The game is amazing, and it's packed full of things go back and do once you've beaten it.

Here's a short review on the 3DS game, played for a few hours straight, until I realized I missed dinner, which is emotionally important to me. 3DS gives more portability, after you summon two Skylanders with the portal, you don't really need it unless you want to switch the Skylanders for other ones. Also, the 3D looks amazing. Unlike most my other 3DS games, Skylanders has a very natural feeling with the 3D, it may just be that gameplay is in 3D, but it feels like a good fit. The gameplay itself is great, I was skeptical before I bought it if It would be worth it, but I found it to great. It has a good mix of combat and platforming in my opinion.
The big difference from a console version and the portable version, is that the portable one is, well, portable and in 3D. It's really just choosing your favorite system I guess.

LoS was extremely cheesy, and people ate that up. Why is Skyanders so different?

^Probably because Skylanders is directed towards an even younger crowd than LoS.

I have the PC version, and i'd definately recommend it. It doesn't lag at all on my computer, but mine's only a few months old so...
It also has sheep. Which you can set on fire. :3
