It would actually be cheaper to just buy a used N64 and a copy of Starfox for it. It's the same game, only with better resolution since it'll be on your tv.

Too late! I already just got a 3DS (and I'm happy I did). And while I have an N64, my father wants me to sell it any way possible. Plus, I don't have the proper cables, nor do I have Starfox for the system (and my father refuses for me to get used games).

And honestly, I found good differences between Starfox 64 on the N64, and on the 3DS. Enough that makes getting the 3DS version worth it. Now if only it had online play (it'd be perfect for battle mode). smilie

Haha, I still haven't gotten a proper game for my 3DS. But I got The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords - Anniversary Edition on the eShop, seeing as it's free. It's been keeping me occupied. smilie

(Off topic, I know, but seeing as we were all talkin' 'bout the 3DS...)

^I'll be selling my DSi soon (have no use for it now). Odds are I'd be getting $58, and I'll put that towards Skylanders.................or Starfox...............I CAN'T DECIDE.

Starfox.

^I got an idea to decide.

I know a few guys here have been able to play Skylanders on the Wii, and possibly another console. But has anyone gotten the chance to play the 3DS version? I want to know if it's any good before I pre-order it. I don't want to get a repeat performance of AHT.

I downloaded that yesterday. It's more or less the first Zelda game I've ever played. Pretty good.

As for an actual game, I was allowed to get Street Fighter.

I went to Toys R Us today, and they had a demo unit set up. It was just a TV and portal with a "try me" button, with no controllers. It was in the R Zone, in the "video game backpacks/plush/etc" aisle.

Either they'll pull out a console after launch, or maybe the demo just plays a corresponding "meet the skylander" video.

even though it just says there are awards for 360 version, expect trophies for the ps3 version since all games on ps3 now are mandatory to have trophies or sony will not allow it on there system.

Do PC games usually have achievements? If so, do you think the PC version with have achievements?

Steam has achievements, so maybe if Skylanders is there, it'll have Steam achievements?
I don't have a Steam account though, and don't know how the achievements work, so don't quote me on that.

^I haven't heard anything about Skylanders on Steam. If it was going to be available for Steam, or have Steam support, it would've been advertised at one point.

I'd say Skylanders will be on Steam, but not immediatly. Maybe they want to observe how the PC version sells without the support of Steam.

That isn't a very smart idea, though. The sales would probably plummet without Steam support, seeing how most kids play on a console or handheld rather than a PC.

I honestly kinda figured that Steam isn't supporting it because there's no way to play the game if you were to digitally download it from them, unless you already have a different version, and therefore the toys to play the game.
sonicbrawler182 Platinum Sparx Gems: 7105
#363 Posted: 18:14:13 03/10/2011
Or you could just buy the toys separately?
Or, maybe a nice idea for Steam users, would be like a slip you could print out to get a Starter Pack and the Portal of Power?

I know that isn't a very smart idea, but it's Activision we're talking about. You hate their business decisions for a reason, remember? I'm just saying what I could see them doing, not what I think they should be doing. smilie

Toys in the starter pack for the most part aren't available seperately (I don't see any seperate Spyro toys).
Great idea! I can buy it from Steam, print out the slip, and run to Toysrus and get the game. I may as well buy the game from TRS in the first place. smilie

I'm aware of my hatred for Activision's business decisions (i.e. overpricing the 3DS edition of the game).

Each figure is gonna come with a web code to be used on the website. So I assume they can also be used to play the game if it was digitally downloaded.

On the website. Not really in-game.

To play the PC game without the toys is to basically defeat all purpose of paying extra money for it.

I'm sure it could be... ARRANGED.
Ya see, you're only thinking about yourself there. But from Activision's point of view, PC games sell better on Steam, and you know how they are - if it means extra money, they'll do it. Also, having the full game installed on your PC will make it run better, so it would be worth doing the slip method. And, not everybody has access to Toys R Us. smilie

I intend to buy it on 360.

Already have my target vg ordered alphabetically.

From top to bottom (basically Z to A)

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Sonic Unleashed
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon
Halo 6 (When released)
Halo 5 (When released)
Halo 4 (When released)
Halo 3: ODST
Halo 3
Halo 2
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo: Combat Evolved (Remake)
Halo Wars
Halo: Reach
Untitled Treyarch Call of Duty Project
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty 3 (maybe)
Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dawn of Destiny*
Blinx: The Time Sweeper*

*Games I still have from my old, broken, classic Xbox. Pending they are compatible with 360 model (I know some Xbox games, like Halo: CE and Halo 2 are) and if they still work after 5 years in our attic. If no to these, back into the attic they will go.

EDIT: I even drew plans for a glass display cabinet for all 32 toys. Ordered as they are on the SSA page and the poster. smilie

Cabinet would be made of cherry-stained oak, glass doors, plain brass knobs, and white-veneered shelves/interior, with an fitted cubicle for each toy to rest comfortably. smilie

Aura was to be Amber's original name in W&M. Once I changed my mind from a whole Yuna concept to a sexy, metal-clad Tifa Lockheart concept, I thought Amber was more fitting. It kind of sounded better too. The tan thing was where peaches came from.

You would have to read all of Wrath and Mercy to get it. You can see it in my sig.
