If you listen to how they sound on the game clips we've seen, it doesn't match up at all. Commercials never use the original voice actors (they're often too expensive and too hard to get hold of for a 30 second spot). Their companies hire other actors or use voices from in-house for advertisements. Spyro and company may still talk, but until we see actual game footage of them doing so, we won't know for sure until we play it.


Yeah, Gill Grunt's voice doesn't sound anything like his actual in-game voice we've heard, and neither does Trigger Happy's.

Nor does Stealth Elf's (her voice had a whispy quality to it in-game and sounded more Asian, for lack of a better descriptive term) or Spyro's (his in-game voice is higher and more childlike, while his commercial voice is clearly being done by an adult trying to sound like a spunky teenager).

He sounds like Elijah in the second commercial posted on this topic (the one with Eruptor and all of those guys), and he sounds llike one of Dexterboy's character voices in the other trailer.

Well they did say all the Skylanders will talk, including Spyro. Probably when they're about to go into the game nor in the beginning cutscenes.

It would be hard to get a good VA for in game Spyro. Not many voices would seem natural coming out of him.

I predict that based off of his look, Spyro will have a raspy almost monster-like voice. Something to suit his ugly mug.

Eheh, that made me laugh.
But I did like his voice. I'm pretty disappointed it's not the voice he'll have. But, who knows what his voice'll be like in the game. It could still be good.

Dexterboy124 is a YouTube user who is one of the creators of the "Sanity Not Included" Machinima series, which comprises of skits of different video games, and at the end of each episode, we see an animated short starring him and the other creator, GuitarmasterX7 (may not be proper spelling).

There are recurring voice overs used for different character types in the series. Spyro's voice in the "BLOW IT UP!" trailer really reminded me of one of these voices, only less over the top.

Also.....I just broke Aura's...."Sanity"...AAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! smilie

It's confirmed that the voice for Spyro used in the Blow It Up commercial is the same voice that they'll use for Spyro in the game!!

im guessing when all the skylanders were 'sent to earth in form of toys' when re released into skylands there voice is messed up because they were frozen kinda like carbon freeze sickness (yes another star wars reference)
