I suppose, it's different liking the older games because they were apart of my childhood, but Skylanders is meant for kids so you know how it is.

Ahh well, it's only an advert. I won't be getting the game anyway. Makes me wish I was a kid again though.

Gill Grunt's commercial voice is nothing like his in-game voice (where we actually here him speak English). In fact, the same could be said for all of them. And Spyro and Trigger Happy sounded almost identical to each other, and Terrafin, Eruptor and Gill Grunt sounded quite alike too...

So, I have a feeling the voices we have here are for the commercials only. I've seen that happen in games before.

The voices is probably just for the commercial, in the game, they'll probably sound different.

I think Spyro and Trigger Happy's voices are way too calm and boring in the commercials. I'd expect them to sound way more hyperactive in the game.

^Well they are frozen as toys, Sonicbrawler. They know when they can be wild and hyperactive when they're put into the game.

The fact they are frozen is more of a reason for them to be hyperactive, spouting things like "LEMME AT 'EM!", or "GET ME OUTTA THIS THIIIIING!"...

Don't know for sure yet. But personally, I doubt it.

Well, the first commercial we thought they were the voices for the characters, but then second commercial came in, and they sound different than what they sounded in the other commercial.

I hope that's not Gill Grunt's actual voice. It does not suit him at all imo.

Come on, we all heard Gill Grunt's actual in-game voice in the Falling Forest level and the arena battle gameplay, remember?

I think Spyro sounds the same in both, just in the first one he's whispering more. I really like the voice, I hope they stick with it.

^ Yeah that's what I was thinking. Spyro and Stealth Elf were whispering, and their voices were low.

I think he sounds too much like Elijah. Something more akin to the AHT Spyro voice would be more fitting for Skylanders Spyro, if you ask me.

We heard Gill Grunt's and Trigger Happy's actual in-game voices fully clear from the Falling Forest gameplay. Their voices are different in the ad.

Well, it's really on the second commercial that spyrocrash posted here that he sounds like Elijah. On the other one, he sounds like that one voice Dexterboy puts on, only less exaggerated.

Hmm, so it looks like all the skylanders know one another. . . a bit of a let down if you ask me. If that stands true, and I know it's aimed towards kids, I got a feeling that the story isn't going to be what I expected.

As for the voices, I'm leaning towards "These are just marketing ploys to make the game more appealing" side. I'm sure this tactic was used before. . . just, can't put my finger on it .

Well they have been protecting Skylands for generations. Of course it'd be obvious that they know each other. It's shown when Spyro seemed like he already knew Trigger Happy and Gill Grunt in that scene in the E3 trailer.

Oh yeah. . . I forgot this is a spin-off / reboot. Still, I was hoping some Skylanders didn't know "X" Skylander and vice versa, at least that way you would, in theory, get some interesting plots out of the main story. . . then again, since you can replace any Skylander at will, that would be a bit weird. . .

No matter. I'll just sit and wait till I play this game to see what I'm getting myself into.

Hmm, to an extent. The ones that I've heard that talk are Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy and arguably Spyro. I think he says "Huh!?" while he's looking around when you place him on the Portal.

We've heard Flameslinger talk too.

I know, that's weird. They also spelt Kaos as "Chaos."

It's because GAME are too used to good grammar.

But yeah...weird...maybe you win copies of the LoS games in this competition, as well as Skylanders stuff...

I hate to break it to you guys, but the character voices we hear in the commercials aren't their in-game voices. If you listen to how they sound on the game clips we've seen, it doesn't match up at all. Commercials never use the original voice actors (they're often too expensive and too hard to get hold of for a 30 second spot). Their companies hire other actors or use voices from in-house for advertisements. Spyro and company may still talk, but until we see actual game footage of them doing so, we won't know for sure until we play it.

And regarding the folks who think they can't play Skylanders because it's for kids, why not? Nobody cares what you play on your free time. A true sign of maturity is enjoying what you like without caring what others think of you for it. I'm almost 30 and I'll watch all the cartoons and play all the kids' video games I want.
