Well, I only played the first level, so I can't really speak for the difficulty, But it did seem to hold my hand a bit too much.
The controls were good, and the level design was fun.

I don't really have much to say to be honest. I know I'm going to be buying it, It's a fun little game. Although you can definitely tell that it's aimed at small children.

I'd need to play more to formulate a proper opinion on it really.

As for no jumping, many games pull it off just fine and they're so fun you don't even care

^Star Fox Adventures. There wasn't manual jumping, you could only jump by running up to something and letting the game jump for you.

Zelda, Pokémon (in which you can't jump by pressing a button, you just do automatically when you are near a border), Guild Wars?

Starfox Adventures was an "on foot" adventure game, very similar to the 3D Zelda games. It's very fun if you enjoy 3D Zelda games

Zelda II had jumping, and many of the 2D games had an item that let you jump (a feather or cape, if I remember right), but you couldn't in the 3D games.

Just, please don't dismiss a game as bad solely because you can't jump in it. The console game's focus is more on combat than platforming, where the 3DS's focuses on platforming more than combat.

Granted, after watching a significant amount of this rot, I've pretty much gathered this is any old game with some reapplied recycled concepts and some fairly overused and familiar platforming. Overall, nothing eye-catching I've not seen a billion times before.

Not all Zelda games are bird's eye view. The 3D Zelda games such as Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess have a bit of jumping in it but only when you're near certain ledges and platforms.

We heard Gill Grunt, Flameslinger, and Trigger Happy talk. In a recent video, we can hear a faint glimpse of Spyro's voice.

I thought Spyro just made grunting sounds?

You haven't seen the latest video, Spyro's voice can be heard briefly. It's been confirmed that all Skylanders will talk, but some already do so in a language we can understand.

What did he say?

It's hard to tell, since the commotion of the convention and the guy talking blocked out what Spyro said.

Gill Grunt also said 'Crush some gills!' in the video.
