I kinda hope there's character torrents, partly why I'm getting the PC version.
Speaking of the wii graphics though, I don't see the issue; the 360 has more texture and paler colors, but it's still pretty much the same. I actually like the Wii better, it's more vibrant.

So is the keychain avaliable if you preorder anywhere or just that site.

I really don't see the game being pirate-friendly, since you need the portal/figures to play (unless a program/emulator was made to mock the portal/characters, if that's possible).
Mod-friendly, yes. At the very least, textures could be changed and maybe models ripped (looking forward to seeing if they ever show up on Gmod). Anything more would probably depend on how experienced/dedicated people are. (of course anything like that would technically be illegal, as it's reverse-engineering or modifying the game)

This is how Google translate interprets the red text on that Skylanders news page:

It basically sounds like it's exclusive to cultura's website, but there's no information on if it will be available in other countries. Hopefully it will, rubber keychains like that are neat.

Actually, when a character/portal system is used, it's basically uploading certain data files onto a central unit. A third party program would simply find what the files are, recreate them (for characters and portals) and you would have another program running as if it was the portal itself in the background.

^Yeah, that's kinda what i was thinking. All the character data must programmed into the game already and the toy is basically a hard copy yes/no switch for that character's data. In theory all you need to do is hack the game so that you can 'toggle' the yes/no switch for any one of the characters.

You could mod Daemon Tools to do it. Simple crap.
