That article itself was pretty fascinating, though I'll admit that Kotik is kind of creepy in the way he analyses human beings. o.O Ah well. When your job is herding people, more or less, it pays to think in those ways I suppose. The idea of Skylanders being a kind of economy for kids is both fascinating and a bit eerie.

It's more the way Kotick phrased it than anything else. It sounds so mercenary. o.O In truth, it's not a bad idea to teach kids about trade and value early on, though I don't think Skylanders is going to be doing anything revolutionary there. From what I recall, trading toys with your siblings/friends when I was a kid inevitably ended in a fight sooner or later.

Yes, definately, that's a very comical way of looking at it.

I've decided. I shall be getting both the Wii and 3DS versions for Christmas. Especially because I'll also be getting a 3DS then. Good thing the 3DS price is going down.

Hey, dark52, they recently confirmed that the release date for Skylanders in the US is September 27th.

For US...Europe get this game on 14th October....

The 14th October is a Friday and the 16th October a Sunday :3. In Sunday are the most Shops closed in Europe

I've got no doubt you've got things bothering you, SpyroLuva, and I'm not trying to antagonize you, nor, I think, is anyone else here. I'll be frank: a few years back (and off and on since) there have been times when I've had to leave this forum for a while just to clear my head. At the end of the day, we're all here to talk about a purple dragon and his friends. If things start getting too nasty or you find yourself lashing out or this place is just adding a little too much stress to your day, I highly recommend taking a break for a bit. Most of the people you talk to here can be found elsewhere if you want to chat with them one-on-one without being tempted to get embroiled into an argument about something insignificant.

If you wanna talk about something that's bothering you, I'd be willing to listen (privately of course). I've helped a lot of people here with their personal lives, and heard all sorts of stories from them.

I like te way CAV decides to be different and just go for the full on "Well I'm going to try and annoy her back by saying this" instead of trying to help, or just ignoring it, which will make it a lot worse and more confusing, well done CAV (Sarcasm) You never seem to look at it from another person's point of view, it's just I want to get my own back because she said this against someone, and that's it.

Wars of attrition, no matter how small the reason, are a bad idea and a stupid thing. Yeah, it feels good sometimes to "get them back", but they're only going to do the same and it's going to get steadily worse every time. Nobody will win this thing and, in the end, both sides are going to feel like crap but be unable to break out of the cycle because their lousy sense of pride won't let either one back down long enough to be the bigger man and either ignore it or own up to it and try to make a real resolution.

Personally, I hate seeing how nasty we can get here over really stupid things. Before you start saying something snippy, just remember that you're hurting a real person, maybe destroying a good friendship, over a childrens' video game series.

Why take your anger on someone else? Like everyone else said, just take a break from this site. I did something like this before over at another forum site, but I came back and I feel alot better than before. As suggested, just take a break from here. If you take your anger towards someone else, then things will get worse from there.

If you think revenge has actually solved your problems, I hate to break it to you, but you are very naive. It might not affect you directly, but there are negative consequences to the actions you took and you are not in the right for having taken them.

On-topic:

I'm still interested to hear more about the "web world". If it sounds good, I might just buy Skylanders, so I can connect with friends here.
