Sweet.

I don't know why, but I want to name Zap "Eridan".

To me, renaming the characters is as useful as renaming pokemon in the games......................it isn't.

It may not be useful, but it's fun.

Yeah...I mean, renaming Zidane "Colonel C**t" in Final Fantasy IX was epic...

This was showcased at this E3, right?

Alpha Build, huh? If he means that there is more to see of what we currently have, then that's one thing. However if he means that there is still core mechanics needed to be done. . . then perhaps Skylanders is still a ways off, maybe more so than we thought.

Yeah the gameplay we saw in E3 and in the video above you was in alpha build.

I'm surprised that they are not in beta yet. . . still, if their still isolating individual functionality and making sure each feature/requirement/function works. . . I guess that somewhat admirable of them.

Three more months till the deadline; the game's probably in beta stage as we speak with TFB trying to wrap things up.

Well, let's hope that three months is enough to make this game. . . usable, and enough time to polish it. No sense making sure all the features work, if you can't use them properly.

if they are only in Alpha/Beta and they only got around 3 months to finish it, it kinda makes ya worry about how polished the game will be, and how much content it will have.

though, even with a deadline like that, becuase Activision set that date, its not surpriseing.

lets just hiope 3 months is enough time for them.

Wow, i wasnt actualy expecting a date like that. though, considering they are still in Alpha/early Beta, still makes me wonder if 3 months is enough time for them to finish it and polish it.

I'm guessing alpha is the version that Activision tests, and beta is the demo level that gets released? It's the first time I've heard these words.

Correct, well sorta. Beta would be portions of the game/software that is released to the public to test how easy it is to use. If the game/software is not easily used (too hard or too easy) then the game/software will be pulled back to make the necessary adjustments. This, in some areas of the game biz, is called balancing the game.

*Alpha* is basicly when the develeper has a playable version of the game, *Beta* is more polished and in some cases, its a version in which, they bring people in to test it. some times there are open Beta's, for example, Bungies Halo Reach Beta and/or the Medal of Honor Beta. of corse, if the Beta and/or Alpha testing goes bad, they end up pushing the game back to a later date, to fix the issues, then after that, they go back into beta again, to find/fix any other issues, bad game testing results is mostly the reason why games get delayed.

then after *Beta*, they polish all aspects of the game and fix as many bugs/glitchs as possible. then when the game hits *Gold* its shipped to stores, then its released.

*Gold* is the Deadline, when they have fixed every bug/glitch they can, and polish it to the best of there abilitys.
in Skylanders case, *Gold* still means the same, when they hit Gold, they are done working on the game and they have fixed as many bugs and glitchs as they can.

Just realised I'll probably be spending £100+ on the 3DS and PS3 versions alone, not including all the extra figures I'll be wanting.
