Information from E3:


  • Characters can be customized with different hats, which offer minor bonuses and lets you change their physical appearance.
  • Characters can be renamed.
  • The 3DS version of Skylanders will be more of a 3D Platformer, and is different from the console versions of the game.
  • We will be using turrets to take down enemies in certain levels.
  • There is no jump button in the console versions of Skylanders. The 3DS version, fortunately, contains this function.
  • Skylanders was originally going to be a darker Spyro game that included blood, but Toys for Bob didn't feel that this direction wasn't 'Spyro' and that it wasn't what their passion was about. They spent six months on a variety of different directions with Spyro, and with the time and budget given by Activision, Toys for Bob eventually came upon the idea of Skylanders.
  • Certain enemies will steal keys and important items, and you will need to chase them down and defeat them in order to collect the items.
  • It is said that Water-based Skylanders will be able to swim.
  • The toys will be sold at $7.99.

Actually, Activision is playing smart, the younger population will want these toys. So if the toys are too expensive, then they won't make a profit. This is due to the parents not wanting to pay too much to make their children happy.

I was being sarcastic (hence the "*shot*"), as torok said "what about the actual CD?", referring to the game disc. I was just being cheeky, as games these days gon DVD-R discs, or Bluray on PS3.

It would actually be nice if they done a Collector's Edition, where there is a disc for the soundtrack, and a 'Making of' documentary disc.
