If you look carefully at the edge of the Sorceress' lair, you see a tower with a door/portal that looks like the ones in Midnight Mountain. I think that's what ccrogers15 meant.

Probably how Spyro got in and out.

Agreed. But.. wasn't the one Spyro went into pitch black? And the portal's background is sunset, and not night time.

So it could be just for show or an unused portal.

Strange how we never get to use that portal, Insomniac should have at least done a cutscene where the Sorceress warps through that portal and turns the ground into purple ooze. It would have given it a bit more explanation as to why it is there.

Very strange, I reckon they must have misplaced that object, I think it should have been on the outside of the wall.

Or... They planned to put a cracked wall obstacle on the outside, but forgot to. Also, that tower in Midnight Mountain with the three butterflies on it... O.o

They've done quite a few mistakes come to think of it, maybe they were a bit rushed in development as they wanted to move onto a newer project.

I do believe they were rushed, they had to get the game out in the 'Year of the Dragon', 2000.

What gets me is that they had to release 'Ripto's Rage!/Gateway to Glimmer' about the same time, just after 'Spyro 1' in 1999, and that did not seem as rushed. Maybe they just wanted to get this game over with? Who knows.

No way. It got REALLY good ratings. I don't think it was really TOO rushed,if it was.

Has anyone tried turning around right after hoping onto the UFO to see if that really IS where Spyro comes out?? Otherwise, I think it's just where the Sorceress goes in and out.

I never even noticed that, there's actually quite a lot of portals that people have found throughout the game that haven't had anything done to them to make them accessible

Tried it, but it's not. i also flew around the world on the UFO chasing the other UFO thingies but its nowhere near the battle ground

Well, I tested my own theory of looking behind you when you first come out, and no, that tower is NOT where Spyro comes out.
I decided to test it, and when I figured that out, I located the tower, and decided to video tape it. Here's the video.

(Watch video before reading this next part, please)
And with that said in the video, I belive that Insomniac may have used that tower to store the dormant egg file/s of that final Yin Yang egg you get when you beat her in the bonus round. I think they marked it with that "portal" so they wouldn't forget which tower they put it in. Or, as I had not enough memory on my camera to explain in the video, they may have planned to make that tower's portal a door, that would open when you beat the Sorceress, and you'd find the last egg in there, instead of it popping out of nowhere like the others. I wish I could hack the borders, like I said in the video, to see what's in there. See if it's the egg, if it's a portal, or if it just nothing, or something else. I DO have a PC version of this game... If I could hack it, I might beable to figure out how to get in there... But that probably won't happen.

Pretty nice video and explantation, but I don't think it is "egg storage". I'll try to hack this barrier using PC emulator and Cheat Engine. I'll post results ASAP

When video will be sent, you can see I got to that portal using Cheat Engine (technical explanation in description). As you can see, this portal is only a solid texture in portal frame. After recording video I tried to find something interesting inside tower. I tried changing, freezing, unfreezing all 3 position variables and moving in-game. Thing I was expecting for was something like this:

Yeah, it's funny we are still recovering this topic I also found where boss egg is kept during battle. When you enter battle arena and jump on border where I did in video. If you turn around you will see egg levitating in-air. I checked, this is same egg you get after boss fight, so still there is no sign of egg 151

I think this isn't thing to make video about, but tomorrow I'll post some pics. I'm unable to hatch this egg, so video will be just Spyro doing... I don't even know what

See my video in earlier post, everything is said there about how I get on level border. Using Cheat Engine I later frozen height value, so I neither fall down nor fly up, so I could fly toward egg and take 3rd screenshot. If you want more explanation, PM me.
