Will Skylanders appear at Wonder Con 2011 (April 1 - 3)? Activision's going to be there.

Well, tomorrow is April 1st, so we'll find out soon enough. I'd like more info. Pics, vids, gameplay, more characters (prefferably a full list with bios and pics), etc.

I don't think he will be at comic con though, that is different.

It's garenteed he'll be at E3. There's no reason not to be there. But it's certain that it will be overshadowed by Modern Warfare 3.

Well, why wouldn't MW3 and other games like it overshadow Spyro? not to depress anyone, but... it is true.

It is true. When Activision is milking CoD for all it's worth, it's obvious they'd make it the big attraction at their section.

When they create a replica jeep and sell it, yeah...

Skylanders, like CoD, is one of their AAA titles this year. We'll probably see more.

Yes, we will hear more about it. But like I said, it will almost obviously be outshined by CoD, since it's the bigger franchise.

Cod is also meant for older people, people who can travel on their own with their own money. Not to say that there are no Spyro fans like that, but yeah, it will out do Spyro, as well as the other games like it.

Last I remember, only professional critics, businessmen, and the like are allowed at E3. Maybe that has changed last I checked, but if not, here's another reason I find that CoD will outshine Spyro:

Gaming websites will obviously give coverage to games that will gather attention from gamers, and get them to visit the site more. Take IGN for example. They would obviously give more attention to CoD because that's what gamers want to see, and therefore they will get more views, hence more money.

That's not really a bad thing. The entertainment industry, which includes gaming, exists solely to make money. Even excellent companies like Valve aren't in it just for fun. Frankly, that's not a bad thing. When you're out of school, you're going to find yourself working only in part because you like the job. The rest of it is for the money.

I get the impression from the context in which you guys are talking about the money-making side of things that you think it's bad. I'm glad that's not your intent, but it didn't read like it and a lot of people here tend to just automatically think money is the root of all evil.

Personally, I wouldn't cope with a job I don't enjoy. I'd work better at something I have passion for, such as video games.

Saying stuff like that is what makes the world a worse place to begin with. Very few people are evil; most just don't realize when they're hurting others or are more concerned with the well being of their loved ones. It's not evil, it's just how life goes.

Heh...guess what one of the most horrendous jobs in the entertainment industry is? The video game industry. Even when you are in a line of work you are passionate about, it's not always fun. Heck, I just quit a job I am very passionate about because doing it for money has sucked all the joy out of doing what I love.

There are times where money is the root of evil. Times where people and greed are. And times where there is no evil, and that it's just human nature. That's just how I see it. It always varies.

I have friends in the game creating and designing industry, And they like making games more addicting because they say they are making the name better. It is true, but they don't look th what it does the kids.

Well in the event that a game gets a kid addicted, don't blame the developers. Blame the parents for buying the game that is clearly not for kids (since the addictive game usually ends up being a shooter).

I think you may have misunderstood me. I didn't mean people as in everyone in existence. I meant that people are the ones who do evil deeds. What else can? Therefore, the people involved in evil deeds and know they are spawn a lot of evil.

If what you are trying to turn me off working in the video games industry, it's not working...

The only reason I wouldn't work in the gaming industry is due to the fact that even if I take classes, I'll probably suck ass at development. And that's really the only thing I'd really be interested in. Everything else is pretty much......meh.

The reason I would never work in gaming is because I know many people who work in it right now. One of them is so burned out by his job he can't do anything he loves when he gets home. Another wants out of it very badly. One of the others told me a nice little story about crunch time and literally sleeping under his desk for weeks and sending money home to his family because he couldn't leave. That video isn't as much of a satire as you think it is.

That's a bit of a long talk on my end involving a lot of philosophy and what I know about biology and unconscious human behavior. Let's just say I disagree and leave it at that.

There is always something to lose.

You always need to sacrifice something, for something that you love, only to eventually hate it.

If anyone made any sense of that, you deserve a medal.
