Yeah, I found it strange that you made the group, then completely left. I was confused.

I made the group mostly to spit in the face of all the Skylanders haters at the time, but also to give the few folks who liked the idea a place to go. Same thing with the Goblin Spyro group. I like making groups and I've made almost a dozen now that I have quickly become bored with and given over to others (I wonder if there's a market for that...? ). The only ones I still have are Just for Faun and Razz Comics (well, and the ABE one I started today; we'll see if that lasts).

So you made the group 50% out of spite? Strange way to go.

There might not be a market to that, but odds are there's an app for that. *DUH-DUM-TISH* /bad joke

CAV: I'm one of those really strange people who sometimes gets as much joy out of hating something as I do out of liking it. I've read all of the Twilight books, for instance, and my favorite blog to read is devoted to tearing apart the Left Behind series. I'm also still a rabid Dragonriders of Pern fan even though I'm pretty sure I'd punch Anne McCaffrey if we ever met.

Aura24: Mike's a professional. Frankly, if he even knows about the fan stuff at all, I doubt he cares. He doesn't have to because our enjoyment of the game is not what makes it a success.

Maybe, but I think it's safe to say that nobody would expect that, and still go through with it. I feel as though he thought that people would like the idea. I know that if nobody was going to like the idea, I wouldn't go through with it.

I can't blame you much. I do the same. I love to hate Twilight. I love hating Bieber. I love hating rap music. But in the end, I don't hate it because I like to. I do it because I actually hate it. Taking the piss out of it is just a bonus.

I like to know about a thing before I really turn my wrath upon it. I don't like Bieber's music but I'm not interested enough to dislike him. He's just an annoying kid to me and his fame will pass or he'll grow out of this obnoxious phase (kind of like Brittany Spears did). With Twilight, I'd heard it was bad and good, so I gave it a read (all of it, and I've seen all the movies) and judged for myself. Dragonriders of Pern ticks me off but I can't quite separate it from the love I held for it when I was a kid. I much prefer to like things, but sometimes hating them in a critical way is fun, too.

Here's something I thought of. If we can call this a spin-off, or even a realization that Spyro is the center of the first edition of Skylanders and that future skylanders games will focus on other characters, then maybe people are losing more sight of the value of these "less that $10" figurines. I can't imagine if the second edition is titled, "Trigger Happy's Undertaking," that they would require us to re-buy all of the characters that appear in Spyro's Adventure.

Just a thought.

I see two errors with the characters. One is with the prism break, two pictures of him look the same. Then there is two pictures of the ice dragon. He is harder to identify, but they're the same character. Just look closely, and you'll find the actual similarities.

iSO, Michael Graham is in Activision Publishing, since his company merged with Activision since 2008. And Toys for Bob didn't list him as their employee.

And finally, they said these toys would incorperate internet, so I expect DLC will be avaliable. Maybe the Skylander's site will allow you to use a character as an avatar kind of like the old Spyro site, but hopefully alot better minigames and avatar animation. Maybe you'll be allowed to build your own character in the species of the toy on the portal at the time.

Yeah, but that guy is the Associate Producer in charge of the game. So, either the other sources from other people got the details mixed up or didn't add them at full.

Again, I think "unlock areas with elements" just means using the elements to get to hidden areas.

In a way, you could say we unlock them with character and element.

When it comes directly from Activision, I think it's pretty obvious who we should be trusting... And only 1 source said that you unlock new areas from the characters...

An associate producer may or may not be directly involved in the making of a game itself. His job is to get the money needed to make the game and sometimes to promote it, nothing else.

Why can't it be both? Ignitor and Eruptor are both fire characters, but the traits between the two are different. Eruptor is described as a power character, but he's not fast. So it's possible that some areas of the game depend on the element, size, characteristics, strength, level, etc. It's not just one limitation.

Found another video on the skylander's game that features detailed info for the main characters.

The guy is a bit cheesey, but the close-ups they got of the toys are the best I've seen.

No if you look carefully that is the ice dragon.

It looks a bit like the ice dragon if memory serves, but he looks NOTHING like Spyro or the feather dragon.

Meh, I think we've got all the big news 'til E3, or possibly the games launch. Nothing really cool about that video.

The only evidence I've seen from dragons in Skylanders is Spyro and the feathered dragon.

There's also a dragon or some sort of blue aquatic reptile in the teaser trailer too...

It almost definetly wouldn't be ICE if it were a dragon anyway, since there is no Ice element...

well, in this case, water could be the element for an ice creature. It's almost expected to have some sort of icy or snow creature in a group of 32 different characters.

They have a big preview about this game.
