*sigh* You think they would at least TRY not to look so cheap. Meh. I'm still not getting all of them, even if they dangle an achievement in front of me.

And I'm not surprised at who they put in the starter pack, since they seem to be the "lead" characters.

I'm surprised Stealth Elf isn't in the starter pack. Heck, she's even in front of Spyro in one of the images.

(EDIT: I see the article. never mind, however, I think we need one more source to report that detail in their own words for that to be confirmed. Why wouldn't there be several different combination of characters in the Starter Packs? Also, not that I think Stealth Elf is a guy, but are we 100% sure its a girl?

It has breasts, I think, so.....

Given that Stealth Elf has all the western animation short-hands for female (wide-set eyes, curvy body, wide hips, eye lashes, a delicate frame, etc.) it's pretty clear she's a girl.

Found another great article that reveals new info for Skylanders. However, some of the 'already known' details in this article suggest inaccuracy, but the new details sound pretty specific to be wrong.

The first thing that jumped out at me was he said the portal can hold two characters and one element. !!!!! What? He's either not understanding the element thing, or there are other toy parts that are available. Since he followed by saying that there are four elements in the game, we can assume he doesn't know what he's talking about.

But don't discredit him yet, we all make mistakes, and sometimes redeem them with awesome stuff like this:

He says that Activision has stated that 10 hours of gameplay is available for each character. Now in contrast, Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning took me 8 hours to complete the first time through. It also takes me about 4 hours to complete Spyro the Dragon at non-speed run pace.

And then he states that only 16 characters will be released when the game is released and that more characters will be available in 2012.

Hmmm...

Well, if this is true, let's try to determine which characters would be available at release:

1. Spyro - DUH!!!

The four other characters who have detailed information about them:

Now I'm getting a little disappointed in a way, more than I was.

It's a long list, but the gameplay is the main thing that disappoints me.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I havn't been paying attention to this topic... A bit more depth about the game from Michael Graham. Some of you may remember, he was responsible for TLoS along with Chris Wilson... Now that Chris Wilson has left Spyro, he's also the head of the Spyro team...

Does this mean they might change the toys to be without stands?

Yeah, my guess is that the character's appearance might change over time, and that the toys we see are prototypes not designed for playing.

Given that we've seen concept art of the toys and many models of the toys as they are as well as multiple videos of them and the small fact that the game's release is about half a year away, I believe we've seen the final versions of the toys for now. What they're likely working on right now is finishing the game itself, finished the other 16 figures, and prepping the advertising for the game's main launch.

I wonder when they'll actually update the site. I hope it's a well done, regularly updated site, like the Sonic 4 site.

Nope, I believe you got it wrong.

It just means there is one common, 10 hour story, but the diversity in characters is supposed to make you want to replay levels and uncover hidden things. It's a smart way of wording it, to make it sound like more than it is.

You only played as Shadow in Shadow the Hedgehog(not counting the co-op easter egg, or the Shadow androids in VS mode).

I think you unlock new areas with characters, not elements or levels.

I think each character has his own cutscenes like in Beat&Ups how Tekken or Soul Calibur.

However, considering that half the characters are not available at release, do you think that some of the later ones will have extra levels on them?
They would be wise to do that, as new characters isn't going to be enough to hold the attention of those who have achieved 100% already.

Some new info per say. Toys going to be periodically released when the game comes out? It would be interesting to see how they're going to keep up the pacing. Who ever thought they're going to release the whole set of 32 toys when it was released?! (laughs)

It is nice to see Michael Graham talking about the game. Nothing new, but reconfirms that he's still employed now working for Toys for Bob, or Activision. I haven't known much about him with the exception that he's involved with the Legend of Spyro trilogy as the producer, and writer.

An update will be made tomorrow at Sunday, 3/13/11 around afternoon. In addition to the new info, I will address some of the things that Riverhippo and Aura24 have made regarding the identification of the two playable characters.

I thought they would release more characters. I just thought 32 was a good number to start out with. However, I guess it'd be better not to have too many characters, as the storyline and setting would quickly become watered down.


And as for the 'lack' of hours of gameplay, even if the maximum in 10 hours total, I don't know that that is any bad. People always complained about how short DotD was when really, it was one of the longer games. The only other game I think that is longer than it time-wise is A Hero's Tail, which is surprisingly time consuming.

But DotD can completed really quickly if you plough through it. On the Dam in less than 2 in-game hours!
