This is a trailer that showed some gameplay parts...but not story, story characters and others thing. Please wait for more information and trailers until you are sure that Sparx is not in this game.

To be honest I doubt any other characters will be returning from the looks of it. It looks like they just made up the game then threw in Spyro to get it more attention.

I know people said this about LoS, but it seems it was the only real reason that it's a Spyro game...

Maybe the older characters won't be playable, but they might like, live in the levels or something. It's hard to get all of the information and characters in a trailer.

I really doubt it'll have any connections with the series. This almost hurts to say, but even Legend of Spyro.. nvm

That actually was exactly what I said about LoS when it first came out. But I could eventually see LoS as Spyro because tiny elements of what it used to be still remained.

Not in this, though. The way the story is sounding makes it seem highly unlikely that this will have anything to do with any previous Spyro games and makes me wonder why on earth they would use Spyro for this and not a new dragon.

Must be because, well, the fact that it's got "Spyro" stamped on it means we (the fanbase) are paying attention. They'd rather take something established than try to create a new fanbase, I guess.

If you look at the title, you will note that it indicates the series is about the Skylanders, and this installment just happens to be about Spyro; however, future installments may not.

Yeah, I did notice that. That was my initial thought when I heard the title as well.

Makes me think that maybe this is just a side thing for Spyro and they're still going to have a different set of games that'll be canon.

I really hope it's a once off.....does anyone else find it peculiar that they axe Guitar Hero, and then a day or two later, they announce another game that requires you to spend extra money on plastic peripherals to get the full experience?

My guess is everyone that cared already had the stuff for Guitar Hero, so they want to sell new plastic stuff.

Im sticking to the belief that this game is strictly promotional. Advertising in an attempt to bring life back to a dead gamin icon.

Spyro and Sparx and Crash Bandicoot are like Mario, and Sonic, and Zelda.

I liked Legend sparx for sake of difficulty, it was much easier.

I agree with this. I think ANB/TEN Sparx and Krome Cynder are the only characters I liked in TLOS.

From what I read in the articles, it's still very much up in the air about which old characters will be in the game. It's been said that they've wiped the slate clean on the Spyro franchise and this is a total reboot (which LoS was not). However, that doesn't mean we won't see familiar faces in Spyro's homeworld or in the course of the story.

Skylanders is likely going to be a larger over-arching story, but this first installment does appear to be focusing a little bit on Spyro (he wouldn't be in the title otherwise).

I'm not ruling anything out until I play the game. And don't forget, an early trailer won't tell us much at all about the game. They've got months to work on this and add stuff.

I saw a dragon in the trailer that had cynders horns though, and similar colours

In regards to story, I think it's a one shot, or it is going to be a small seperate series that will go along with the main series...basically, I reckon this game will be to Spyro what Dissidia(or even Crystal Chronicles) is to Final Fantasy.

Personally, I think it should be a one shot, but they will release a lot of new toys as time goes on, and they will be playable. They should also include a level maker and online play. This game is much better suited to a community-based affair, rather than a story-based one.

^ Yeah. For one thing, IGN expressed that what holds the most promise is the competitive multiplayer, which means that this is a lot like Call of Duty. Disgrards the story and focuses on multiplayer and leveling up.

I'm praying my friends might like this, so I can play it with them... Though I doubt they will.

But, in regards to characters, I seriously doubt we'll be seeing Sparx, Cynder, Elora, Hunter and the gang again. Or Malefor, Ripto and the villains.

Kind of hard to have him as part of the action figure, and I guess they decided he could not be a stand-alone character.
