I'd love a prequel to the first game. That's what got me so excited for ANB originally

Reason is, well....is there really a point? There's not much backstory to tell, really. When ANB was advertised as a prequel, I was like "Yeeeeaaaa....nnnooo....."

The Japanese had an extra story to it. It would be nice to just play through a prequel, IMHO.

I've always wanted one because I've always wanted to see what Spyro was like when he was very young. I'm sure everyone starts off as very immature when young (heck even Raymans does by the looks of it).... IMO, it would be fun to play as a hyper Spyro.

And Spyro was rather immature in STD, having no experience and wanting to fight Gnasty Gnorc right away. If he's even younger in a prequel, it would make sense for him to be more immature than what he was in STD.

Even though I'd rather have a game to continue the classic universe(but not the AHT/SL universe,cus it's sorta different...=/)...I agree a prequel to the 1st game would be pretty interesting c:
I heard Spyro saved Sparx from a bird and that's how they became best friends :0 a prequel would give more info on that or you could actually be able to play that part c:

Theives stole their eggs and the dragons saved them. They basically hatched as brothers, like in TLoS.

I heard that Dragonflies chose dragons at birth, and that is how Sparx and Spyro met.

It says in Sparx's profile on Spyro wiki ,that Spyro saved him from a bird and they became bf's,but they were born on the same day and stuff,this is just what happened a bit later I guess..

Has the developer for Spyro's Kingdom been announced? I know it'll be published by Activision, but is the developer known?

Sierra hasn't even developed a game in the series yet... I'm not even sure they develop games... they only published them along with Activision.

Sierra never developed Spyro, they published it. I would like EL to stay though. They were heading in the right direction gameplay-wise.

But Sparx's origins are so altered and NOT set in concrete that all we are gonna do is fight for the truth and go nowhere.

Don't get your hopes up, I highly doubt it. Insomniac pummeled Spyro and left him for dead in the middle of the street during a blizzard. I doubt they will accept him back (besides, even if they did, Spyro would kick the living **** out of them )

Sparx's origins in both Classic and LoS are in concrete...

In the Classics, he was kidnapped by theives along with Spyro while they were still in eggs. The dragons saved them and they were born together. This is all detailed in the Japanese instruction manual for Spyro 1.

In LoS....do I really need to explain?
