Yep, that is very true. I don't think anyone want's SK turning out like DotD *shot*
I didn't find it like the Classics at all. But then again, I haven't played either one in AGES...

Mmmm... It's so hard to choose a favourite out of the LOS... They had their ups and downs; the animation wasn't to the best quality in the Krome games (the characters looked quite ugly to me) yet it was beautiful in DotD, but the general character designs were a fitting mix of cartoony-Insomniac and revamped-serious in ANB and TEN... I just hope SK takes the best of both and improves upon it.

I don't think they bigged up the flight. They said it would be limited and showed preview videos of the flight in action, and from them videos I was able to tell how limited the flight would be....and it was the exact same in the finished game.

I think if Krome made DotD, the flight would have had less limits, look at their LotG game. But then it would be much different and the story would probably change a lot, like they could fly over that fallen building in the Dragon City.

But if the flight wasn't limited, there would be next to no platforming, Classic fans would complain even more.....you know how it is.

Yeah, this. If flight was truly 'unlimited' I wouldn't be too bothered about the platforming, tbh. I'd probably just enjoy the flight more.

Although, in reality, there has probably never been a single game with truly unlimited flight, and there probably never will be.

Truely unlimited flight? There would need to be a game with a full planet with no limitations or boundaries, which doesn't exist.
It would be cool though to play a game where you can go ANYWHERE on Earth. |

Okay, since we're talking about flying now . . . I thought the flying in Dawn of the Dragon was just fine. Of course, this is coming from someone who has spent endless years hopping and gliding, and spending as much time as possible in places where you could fly. As for the limitations, I thought they were reasonable. Sometimes I wished you could fly at different altitudes. However, if you could, the game would be so easy. There wouldn't be a point of climbing, wall running, etc, you'd just fly everywhere. Besides, there would hardly be any obstacles, besides air currents, perhaps. It would make the game painfully easy. What fun is that?

As for a villian, it would be neat if there was a Dark Master that had been evil by birth and origin. Like a shadow-like grim reaper, or the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (), or something like that.

Or maybe in the next game, Spyro meets a dragon who seems to be kind of friendly, so he welcomes him, and they become friends, and all of sudden Spyro notices strange things happening to the 'kingdom' like random dark areas, and enemies, and he finds clues, and realises then that this friend has betrayed him, and when it comes to the fight, Spyro finds it hard to fight back, as they done lots of cool things together, and that just makes his friend more evil.

Actually that was old goldeneye, from nintendo 64. the remake completely redid the original game, changing everything. they are not the same. in n64, 006 betrays 007 and attempts to launch the goldeneye. bond and trevelyan have a showdown on the antennae cradle (dont know what that is) and alec falls off. because they were once friends, bond saves his life by grabbing his leg. alec says "for england james?" and bond says, "for me alec," and lets him fall (they are on the cradle, five hundred feet above the sattelite dish bowl. alec lands hard five hundred feet down, but mortally injurs himself. still alive, the cradle explodes, crushing alec beneath the weight of all the flaming steel. The cradle is like a quarter of a mile in diameter while the sattelite dish is easily a mile. |

To be honest, I would really like a Spyro game that gave you ultimate free flight. If the classic fans are that fussed over the platforming, then they don't nessarily have to play it if they don't want too. I would really like a game that had free flight like in DoTD, but less limits. Like you could fly over buildings and trees, and go incredibly high. And have fun combat, too.

It would be too easy. I mean, it would be easy to get to one place to another, and you can't fall to your death.
Even though free flight would be fun, it would make the game too easy, and all the platforming would be taken away.
