But yeah, it can be really misleading not to put it in the title, but it's usually obvious that it's a fan made video.

Hey, i am a new member here. mind if i join the talk about the new spyro game? i think it could be the legend universe however, since Activision had said they were taking spyro in a new direction, maybe, they plan on trying to mix the two (both old and new) say for instance they could be making some kind of remake of the original 'Spyro the Dragon' but with the characters and universe of tlos. i know that its a bit of a stretch but just throwing another suggestion out there. what do all you think?

And I see what you're saying, but they said they were taking Spyro in a different direction from the movie, which doesn't neccassarily mean they're taking the games in a different direction from the Legend of Spyro games. It could be TLoS, Old Spyro, or just a mix of the two, but I don't see them just dropping everything TLoS brought.. That would be stupid, in my opinion.

I think they would never even try to mix the universes, but they might keep the TLoS universe and add some more elements of the classics, such as gadgets or mini-games. I think there really should be a TLoS RPG, but it will never happen as long as Activision are around.

Gameplay-wise, they could mix. Storywise, it would not work out. That's why they should either make a Spyro 4, or just integrate more Classic elements into the LoS gameplay, but keep the serious tone.

I know I've said this before, and it'll likely never happen, but I'm gonna say it again... The best thing they can do is make games for both Spyros, like Nintendo does with The Legend of Zelda, or like Capcom does with MegaMan.

However, incorporating Original Elements into LOS and vice versa, MIGHT work to their advantage.

lol, by mixing the two i didn't mean 'spyro meets spyro' i mean maybe lighten up the characters and story. perhaps add some old characters like Moneybags,Ripto,Elora,Bianca,etc... The word 'kingdom' could mean dragon realms therefor hinting towards adding in some classic elements. I think adding in some classic features while still keeping some of the things that made Tlos what it was may work as long as they do it right.

And the producers of the game probably did look at our opinions on the Activision forums, and they obviously have been looking at the forums.

I think the basis should mainly be TLoS, but have a few Classic elements in them. TLoS wasn't made for Classic, nostalgic fans anyway. It is the new generation Spyro.

In fact, I think Krome thought the classic fans may like it, reason being.... most classic fans were kids when they played the classics, including myself. Most of them would be teenagers, even adults, by the time ANB was released. Therefore, it would seem reasonable for them to think that adapting Spyro more to their age group shouldn't bother them. What I'm saying may be unclear, but I hope you can understand what I mean.

I actually typed up my ideas for a TLoS RPG. You can find it in page 2 of the "Create your own Spyro game" thread. I have also been brainstorming more story points for it, and discussing it with a friend on dA. I am considering writing fanfics about it.

Yeah, i understand what you mean sonicbrawler182 but some people will always love the classics (including me) so going in that direction might be a good plan. i agree with you however it probably will mostly be Tlos with elements of the Originals. I like both old and new spyro so as long as the game is well-made and fun im happy.

I also love the Classics. They should make a Spyro 4 sometime, or at least remake the original trilogy. I just wonder who would develop it.

Didn't the producers write the story for LOS? If not then I still doubt the writers were real writers.

Yeah, the producers did the story writing, but now there are new producers from Activision, and Mike Graham is probably in charge of the next game's production, since Activision moved Chris Wilson to the Crash franchise.

I don't know if they will continue the TLOS games. I mean, they said they're going in a different direction from the movie, and the movie was based on TLOS...

Well remember different direction in the way they said it, well could mean they dont want spyro to go into a movie direction at this moment.

Martijn Kroon Stuiver, PR Manager of Activision Blizzard Benelux, recently sat down with Netherlands website Wii-DS. Stuvier was pushed by the interviewer from Wii-DS, who noted that the company does not have many titles coming to the Wii and DS. In response, he said:

“There’s a lot coming up, but it isn’t announced yet. I’m pretty sure you’ll be amazed by at least one specific title.”

Stuvier was then asked if an old franchise will be returning, but said nothing more than “no comment.” Obviously, that’s not much to go on, but it looks like Activision has something special in development for either the Wii or DS (or perhaps both systems).

I thought that was old news that turned out to be not related to Spyro at all.
Anyway, if it is about Spyro, then we definitely have a pretty good reason to think it will be Wii/DS only.

Even if we do find out their emails, they won't tell us anything. Probably until they feel like advertising the next game when it's almost ready.

Yeah, Activision feels like being real secretive about the new spyro game, and unless some more information is leaked out accidently we probably wont't get any news about it until 2011.

I know I'm really impatient waiting for this game, but it's better if we don't rush them, or else we'll have another rushed game which won't live up to it's full potential. Since we know it's coming, I guess we'll just have to wait for them to be ready, as much as I hate waiting.

I was on youtube and i saw it and i read it saying DotD was the last one But I really didn't think it was true. I mean Spyro is HUGE, popularity wise.

Oh by the way, The game that came before DotD was TEN,so maybe DotD means a new day, Dawn comes after night.

DoTD sounds like a name you would have as the very first game, not the conclusion....

I think DoTD is another word for Rise of the Dragon or something.

DotD's original title was "The Darkest Hour", which frankly makes a lot more sense given the game's content. Why they changed it to Dawn of the Dragon, I haven't the foggiest.

I also agree, the darkest hour seemed like a better name.

It would have went better with The Eternal Night. See, first there is a new beginning, then the the night of eternal darkness begins and then it becomes the darkest hour.

In my opinion it flows along better and i do just think in sounds plain cooler.

Also, it would have fit better with the other two titles:
A New Beginning; The Eternal Night; The Darkest Hour
All have three words.
