Or a reboot? Will it be fun and enjoyable my most of fans, Legend and Classic alike, or will it be too simplistic or repetitive for some?

If the story and character script is done correctly and thoroughly by the right people, then it's good.

I'm kind of getting the idea it's a reboot. activision did want to take spyro into different directions and the fact dawn of the dragon is the last of the trilogy. But the game could continue were spyro shadow legacy left off.But its more likely a reboot to me i really don't care i'm just happy theres a new game.

Yeah, but they might continue from SL, hopefully make a console version of it too. But, yeah, I don't care what happens to Spyro really, I like Spyro in all the games.

I think it might be a reboot too. As Ive saud MANY times before, if it's good (fun, well thought out and original story, likable characters, good looking characers that don't attract perves) I'll be happy.

But they're taking Spyro in a different direction than the movie, not neccassarily the trilogy, so we don't know that it's going to be a reboot. It is possible though. I don't see why they'd reboot it again, personally. They've lost enough fans already.

That makes sense too, but the movie WAS going to be LOS, so if it's different then the movie which would have been LOS, then perhaps the series is moving away from LOS. Who knows?

ARGH! All I want right now is an image! Cover art, character group pic, SOMETHING that would answer these burning questions!

Hmm. That is true. When I read the email from Daniel Altiere, what I assumed was they were basically cancelling the movie because they didn't want to take Spyro in that direction and have a Spyro movie. Instead, they wanted to focus more on the game. So to me, that leaves the door open for so many possibilities, I honestly have no idea what the next game will be like.

Agreed.
This wait is agonizing! Discovering anything that has to do with the next game will please me right now. But unfortunately Activision's keeping a tight grip on the info, since they're not ready to release it yet..

Spyro's Kingdom could either refer to the Dragon Realms in the Old Spyro universe, or the newly restored world in the LoS universe.

"Spyro's Kingdom" is likely just an early/beta name for it, like how Legend Of Spyro: A New Beginning was called "Spyro: Legend" long before it was released.
Bolt Hunter Gems: 6147

Yeah, because Spyro's Kingdom is a pretty stupid name for it. But it might have reffured to the actual game though.

The only company's at activision i see could make a new spyro game are: radical entertainment, neversoft, vicarious visions, and magic pockets.

Radical was Crash Bandicoot and Scarface until they were wiped in half, Neversoft are Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk, V-Visions are more general (they do Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Licensed non-game franchise tie-ins and have done work with Crash [and Spyro Fusion]), and Magic Pockets are various, with Imagine games being the most abundant (but still few). It's interesting to note that the last one has only ever developed for the Nintendo and Apple systems...

My honest opinion is that this Spyro will be like nothing that we have seen ever before in Spyro. People now-a-days desire violence, and epicness in their games more so than before. The title Spyro's Kingdom sugjests something where he is the king of dragonkind, or something of that sort. I'm going to place it in the popular fan fiction realm of 50 years after Dawn of the Dragon so that the guardians wil be almost dead or old, and Spyro may have taken over.

This way it could be in the Legend series and still sort of be a stand alone if need be.

The other option isn't bad either in that it's just in the origional series. Either way I'm not complaining. The Dwan of the Dragon was the best selling Spyro Game since Activision's first Spyro attempt (Enter the Dragonfly), so maybe they have found something to build off of there.

Actually......

1. ETD was not made by Activision.
and
2. DOTD was the LEAST successful in the trilogy, and of all main console games.

Anyhow, I'm still just feeling impatient now. I just want something to go by.

GameRankings' Spyro list.

The only LoS game to score higher than a 75% (average) based on all of the reviews was the GBA TEN. DotD's highest score was 65.09%.

The problem is, the general populous will not see anything Spyro as cool. Like my brother did, it'll be a general response of; "The originals were better, anything new will suck."

I'll probably be happy with anything. LoS, original universe, somewhere new, all fine by me. I guess I've kind of got a Sonic mindset where I stopped caring where the series is placed so long as it continues.

But yes, concept art would be fantastic.

I don't think they would make a Spyro game where Spyro's an actual adult. Even if it is Activision, I don't believe they would do that.

Yeah they would kill the franchise as a whole. I believe ok, read the title well spyros kingdom, ok now with that a kingdom means a city thats huge or a region, ok so what im getting at is some sort of free roam is being included. And different places to go to, because a kingdom means theres got to be towns/ citys to visit, now remember IF it takes place in the LOS universe maybe it might take place after DOTD, and if you remember correctly the world was being put together and at the end of the final final scene you see in the book that the moles are putting back the city together, maybe when spyro comes back its a new kingdom thats bigger. So who knows thats what im getting at the new title.

Triumph Studios is one.

Speaking of which, one of the founders did say in this interview they have an unannounced game that is diffrent from their previous games. Still, I would be suprised if Activision had them making the next Spyro game.
