Considering DotD's 'flight' is gliding (they are not flying if you can't control up and down; they're simply riding the air currents)? Yes, it's better.

in ETD it's very VERY glitchy... oh and in YOTD i died a lot of times trying to do that glitch.

Air swimming is a glitch where you can swim in the air and explore an entire level. The levels where you can air swim are Bamboo Terrace, Evening Lake, Crystal Islands and Dino Mines. There might be other levels where air swimming is possible but I'm not sure.

It only works after you've gotten the Atlas warp thing.
1. Go to Fireworks Factory.
2. Jump into the lava.
3. Right as you are about to die, pause the game. If you did it correctly, the controller rumbles.
4. Go to Atlas. Warp to Evening Lake.
5. Swim to the surface. You may now swim throughout the entire level smilie *GASP*

You can also do it in Crystal Island by diving in an area near a hidden egg where land and water meet, but that one's particularly hard for me...
