No, IE has a spell check. Its different from FF's, and may take a second but its a spell check.

The later versions of IE has spell check, but the older ones don't. Unfortunately it's the older IEs are used more.

Well I never herd of IE (whatever it is). I only use internet explorer.

As far as I know, IE doesn't have any auto-update procedures that FF has.

What is your OS? My Windows XP SP3 still has IE6.

It's probably updated with Windows Update, but if you don't run it and you have Auto-updates disabled, you won't get it automatically.
