I will say Sheila’s redesign is definitely more consistent/on par with Elora and Bianca now. Now they’re all 3 anthro animal ladies

I kind of agree with the Sheila criticism. It's fine for some female characters to look feminine, just as some male characters look masculine, but it should also be just as fine for females to look "neutral" as it is for males.

But I'm also not too surprised. TFB seems to rarely ever design neutral looking female characters (only one I can think of is Sonic Boom).

Mysticat is a male but very feminine

(Sonic Boom and Mysticat fall into my "I thought they were guys" category, hehe But they both ended up being two of my favourite Skylanders, so...)

Anyway... back to the kangaroo -

TfB took a risk with Sheila. In my opinion, here's the three options they could have gone with:

1 A straight up remake of the PS1 design. If it's not broke don't fix it, right? Although... I can still see some people wanting a little bit more.
2 A PS1-era-design base, with some new touches. I'm talking about the popular Sheila-with-bandana and etc. TfB could have avoided so much criticism if they'd just gone with this!
3 What we got. Quite a radical redesign that's split the fan base in two. The risk.

I don't expect, want or need Sheila to be changed at this stage, but I do wish we'd just got option two to begin with.

Option 2 would be great imo.

So, something I just thought of today. We've seen that the checkpoint fairies in the first game have voice clips now, even if it is just one line (around 2:37 in this video):


Now, I had the idea: what if they gave the balloonists voice clips, too?

Given the radical redesigns of many characters so far, I bet the balloonist will be basically Flynn from Skylanders, including Patrick Warburton.

I'm honestly hoping they add some more skateboard trick names, and just so happen to name one of them after Kaos as an Easter Egg 8'D

I know Toys for Bob will try to keep everything purely Classic Spyro just to satisfy the fans, but I also can't help but imagine them putting in Cynder as an alternative playable character as a reference to both Legend and Skylanders.

Maybe put it under those famous cheat codes

At an event for Reignited, apparently Activision doesn't have a classic Spyro statue made for these types of events yet, so they brought Skylanders Spyro instead. It's poetic in a weird way in that Skylanders Spyro is sort of passing the baton back to classic Spyro.

They indeed listened to a lot of fans’ suggestions but I doubt they never considered that idea before it popped up on Reddit.
A very nice addition in both cases.

I think it’s starting to get clearer and clearer how many efforts and dedication is being put in this game, and how much the N. Sane Trilogy acted as a testing ground for Activision to understand how to handle such a bigger task more properly.
Even the delay could be taken as a sign of that.

Canadian Guy Eh's thoughts after playing the demo. He has some things to say about the skateboarding section:

Just watching gameplay of the skateboarding looked a little off, so I'm really glad that he was able to pinpoint exactly what the issue was. The more and more we see or learn about the third game, the happier I am that they delayed Reignited. Hoping that this extra time fully enables them to fine-tune things before release.

I’ve always been convinced about the contrary, as I used to see Spyro games as titles way ahead of their times with their open levels and mechanics, at least compared to Crash which still holds up amazingly nowadays exactly because of how simple but effective its gameplay was.

They even cut the frist part of Elora’s cutscene to possibly avoid rvealing Crush’s redesign.

Whatever happens, I strongly hope they’ll drop something big on the 9th.

I think there might be a chance for the second game to still be called Gateway to Glimmer based on the selected language, but it would depend on how the main menu is handled.

That could easily work if it were just a select screen similar to the one of the demo but might end up being too much of a struggle if it’s something more elaborated like N. Sane Trilogy’s or even more with the inclusion of a remade version of the games’ intros.

Not holding my breath for remade PAL covers, though.

Seems likely they're trying to unify the games, it was much more noticeable in Crash N. Sane since there were changes on a gameplay level, the PAL region had things done to make the game harder then its NTSC counterpart, N. Sane is based on the NTSC version of the game. Kind of makes sense since both Crash and Spyro were made in the US, so using that as the base for remaking them kind of seems like a given. Not surprised at all just because of knowing about the Crash thing.

I personally feel they will be revealing the Spyro 3 cover tomorrow, as it would be really weird not to with 1's yesterday and 2's today. I wonder if they'll be doing anything for the 9th, since the Spyro twitter has so far not been active during the weekends, and the 9th is a Sunday. If they have something big for Spyro's 20th anniversary its possible they might just post it in advance on Friday, or the day later on Monday.

Seeing as there was never a remade PAL cover for Crash 3 the likelihood of it happening is very low in all honesty.
