Anyway, I personally think it's still a bit early to call the series doomed.
Sure, "Year 2" gets more and more unlikely each day that passes (guess they would have at least teased something if they had plans for 2017), but future games are a different matter.

If 2018 won't see any new Skylanders announcement, then I'd say it will be definitely over, at least for now.

i don't think that we are getting imaginators 2.0 this year , and for some reason I think that they aren't going to release an official skylanders game next , but they might release a spin off just to promote academy.

Welp, I'm importing LIM from Amazon UK, although they're saying it won't be shipped until somewhere between the middle of July to the beginning of August. I guess that's not too much of a problem. I can just cancel it then if a release date is announced in the US soon. At least this way I'm covered if LIM goes the way of the Yawn Trap.

I gave up on year 2 but i still have faith in future games.

Now that I have both Tidepool and Ro-Bow, I really like how they have essentially the same (mirrored) pose. Even her hair and his cape flow behind them in a similar way. Makes them look pretty neat when put side by side.

I went to eBay and paid $53 and some change for mine. Didn't have to wait, it shipped right away and it'll be here by this Friday. Cane from the UK

47-ish dollars, give or take a few cents.

You are going to pay around $50 for LIM, whether you go Amazon (third party only, Amazon does not carry it themselves) or EBay. Unlike Amazon, the third parties do not subtract out VAT and often the price is in GBP or Euro (which while exchange rate are favorable now, they are worth a bit more than a dollar so the numerical prices you see are going to go up if they are not listed as USD). Then you have currency exchange fees, depending on whether you let your credit card or Amazon themselves do it. Add in shipping fees (and currency exchange on those if they are not USD).

I bought from gonein2nds on ebay. About €45 in totall. I recieved it in 4 days. From Gb to NL

Mine was $39 American. I bought it from Amazon EU directly from the Amazon U.K. Site.

I got tired of waiting for LIM, so I just ordered one off Ebay from the same guy I got Thrillipede from last year, "GoneIn2nds". Prices was higher than I wanted to spend, but I didn't have any issues with Thrillipede, so I said eff it.

Of course, that probably means it'll be out in stores by the time I get it in the next 2 weeks... but that's also what I said about Thrillipede, and that didn't happen for several more months.

I'm still trying to keep myself from doing this but I want to finish off the Imaginator collection now but I also have that feeling that the moment I buy it off ebay it'll finally hit US stores.

I figured that since this is possibly the last Skylander figure we may ever get and that it may be getting yawn trap'd too at this point, I don't mind spending a little extra on it just to make sure I don't miss my chance to own it.

I doubt it'll be 'yawned'. This is what people thought about GC and he came out. We're very likely going to get LIM because its an entirely new character AND a DLC level that came with the new patch. Not releasing is would be horrible business. I know Acti can be stupid, but they're not THAT stupid.

If retailers refuse to stock it then it may get yawned. If Imagnators sales are as poor as they seem to be, Activision may not even want to put the effort into making sure it gets released. The last wave for each game has historically always been a crapshoot. If Activision is done with the 'toys to life' aspect of Skylanders then they really could just decide they're not going to bother with the last few creation crystals and LIM. Don't ever underestimate a publisher's ability to not give a **** and happily disregard whatever the fans want if they think there's isn't enough money involved.

I really hope they won't leave us high and dry since this is a whole level we're talking about, but the total lack of even a hint of a release date after all this time kind of worries me, and I won't put it past Activision to mishandle this series one last time.

I already have the Majora's Mask Link bought on bestbuy but will wait and see if I can get the twilight princess and skyward sword ones ordered tomorrow from amazon and gamestop. These are the top priority for me this week, if everything goes well with them i'll probably end up ordering LIM off ebay.

Agree with McMurderpaws...imo i dont think the remaining crystals will get fully made for release...i think they will not go the way of the Yawns or even Thrillipede, but i think they'll go the way of HeartBreaker Buck Shot, meaning they're in the game's collection menu, but are never made for the public. though i hope im extremely wrong and shown by activision, but im not optimistic about it.

Oh wait a year from now we will call Acti and then we might get the crystals mailed to us for free. Uncle Bob get on this like you did with then Yawn traps.

The problem is that by the time we realize it has been Thrillipeded, the price is going to shoot upwards. I wish I would have hopped on it back when amazon.co.uk had it, or even Mighty Ape, because now Amazon third party and EBay are your only options. The longer it takes, the more people will realize they have something people won't be able to get, and they will go up on price.

As it is, I paid a little more than I like, but it arrived yesterday and I'm glad I can now call it done. The level is good as well, and RO-BOW is a very good character so that helps.

I just got a press release from Activision's Australian PR saying Wave 5 is available for purchase now even though the toys have been popping up in stores over the past few weeks, so I guess today's the official release date. Might mean the US will be getting them soon

If they consider today the release day then it could be up to a month till we get it then because isn't that the usual time frame they go on?

Yeah, I was actually talking about this in a video recently. Australia only has 24 million people, opposed to the US with 325 million, and mainland Europe with ~700 million. Releasing LIM in Australia won't make a noticeable difference in the global market for LIM, as mainland Europe has already seen it released. I will say though, having something released in Europe and Australia is a good sign for America. We've had releases in just Australia, just America, but never Europe and Australia but not the US.
