New Spyro game? [CLOSED]

I looked at the spreadsheet and saw that it was only on wii and ds for now. Why aren't they putting it on ps3 and xbox like they do with other new games? I'm just saying. I wouldn't like that if they changed the info and put xbox and ps3 instead because I don't have any of those. Why not put it on the ps2 too? I don't know if you guys have noticed but the ps2 console is going to dissapear very soon. The consoles are pretty cheap. There are hardly new games for the ps2. And they are taking some of the games away from the ps2. It's going to be just like the ps1. You don't see any of those games or consuls for sale anymore. Don't you think that is how it's going to go with the ds too? I went to gamestop the other day and there used to be a whole wall full of ps2 games and ds games. Now the ps2 only has 2 very small sections and same thing with the ds. I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but I have.

Activision stopped making PS2 games, Free Bird. So the next game won't be on the PS2.

The PS2 is dead in Ireland. Every shop seems to have recently stopped selling games. The DS is fine though.

Of course, ALL consoles have a life span as you would call it, and that being the case, all consoles loose popularity and newer more powerful consoles come out. When newer consoles become more popular game makers make more and more games for them. As old consoles become less popular less and less consoles become avaliable. That's the way it always goes. It happened with every past console, PS1, Game Cube, orig.X Box, and it will indefinitely happen with Wii, PS3, and X Box 360 in time. Be thankful that at least PS2 had a good run, and that compainies want the newest generation to last as long as possible. Sorry your console is 'dieing', but that's just the natural order of things.

Yeah, SpyroLUVA is right. New things always tend to come out and replace the older version of itself. And I loved my PS2, at least I've still got it.
And you know, Xbox died out as soon as the 360 came out. They didn't sell them or the games at the shop anymore.

I'm not sure, but I think that's happening to us too. The good thing is, if you have a PS3 you will get a system update and you would be able to play PS2 games on them.

Sony have also patentedan add-on hardware for PS3, which lets you play PS2 games in HD resolution and it plays them like an emulator, therefore speeding up loading times. They may also be releasing some on PSN.

The PS2 is still clinging to life here in the US. It seems as though Sony isn't keeping their promise about having the PS2 last for a couple more years.

Last I checked, the only games coming out for the PS2 are movie titles and MLB the Show, which is an awesome series might I add. The only PS2 exclusive in a long time that I saw was the latest Jak and Daxter.

In my experience with the PlayStations, I still have the old PlayStation and PlayStation 2, never have had any problems with them, but I've had two problems with the PlayStation 3, and I also very rarely use it.

Back on topic:
Know what I'd like to see in SK? The need for strategy. And when I say strategy, I don't mean the need to take a minute and look for a wall you can knock down, or a switch to press, or the need to toggle through a few different powers to find what works best. I want something that really challenges the gamer's intelligence.

That's what Portal is for....Classic Spyro is for finding things, LoS is for that and fighting...
Also, you have to remember that Spyro is aimed at kids...

I had two PS1s (one in my house, one in my grandmother's for when I visit). Both of them eventually broke, but I already had my PS2 by then. Never had a problem with it, and I still use it to this day, since I don't have a PS3. My Gamecube never had problems either, and I also use it to this day, since playing GC games on the Wii feels unatural. My Wii didn't have any problems until the power cord broke a few months back, but all I needed to do was replace it. I've had my 360 for over a year, and have yet to encounter any problems with it. And my DSi, PSP, DSi XL, and GBA are fine.

You said you wanted a game that makes you think a lot, I suggest Portal.
I want a TLoS RPG, but think that will ever happen? No, it probably won't, because Spyro is aimed at kids. Same goes for strategy.

Portal is fantastic when it comes to logic and the laws of physics.

And I doubt there will ever be an LoS RPG. And if there is, it will suck.

No it wouldn't. We tried that with SL, and that was rather lackluster. LoS wouldn't be any different.
sonicbrawler182 Platinum Sparx Gems: 7105
#2826 Posted: 18:44:29 29/12/2010
But that's because the atmosphere of Classic Spyro and most of it's concepts don't work well with an RPG. TLoS however, is more story oriented anyway(I thought DotD had the makings of an action RPG too).

Also, if they can make a great RPG out of a supersonic blue hedgehog, then surely they can make a good RPG out of a dragon and his dragoness friend.smilie

I found The Dark Brotherhood very lackluster. :/

I get how LoS is story orientated, but if Sierra couldn't do it, we all know that Activision won't either.
sonicbrawler182 Platinum Sparx Gems: 7105
#2828 Posted: 18:57:42 29/12/2010
I thought Sierra did a great job with LoS, and I'm a latecomer, who had just finished replaying the first two Spyros.
Some people liked Dark Brotherhood, some didn't. It's mostly huge Sonic fans who don't like it, but I liked it, despite being a huge Sonic fan. It was challenging and fun, although the last boss was REEALLY lackluster....
However, the ending is one of my favourites in videogame history!smilie

I'm a huge Sonic fan, and even I know when bullcrap is bullcrap. And Dark Brotherhood was bullcrap.

I grew up playing Spyro. But I lost the Insomniac trilogy, and I don't want to have to pay $100 for each game on Amazon.

And no, I don't have a PS3, so buying it through PSN is out of the question.

I don't mean constant mental challenge, just a few more instances where you really need to think. If they did that, they'd need difficulty settings for the younger or lesser experienced gamers, one which can be changed at any point in game.
