The way a character attacks is with the top half, the bottom half is just for transport throughout the game.

I personally HATE the Swapping.....I think it makes the characters not feel...right.... Ill buy the Swap-Force Skylanders mainly to have their figures....To me, they are cool w/o the combining....


Btw, any ideas on the 2/2 Magic SF, 1/2 Tech SF, 1/2 Undead SF, 2/2 Earth SF, 2/2 Air SF, 1/2 Fire SF, or 1/2 Life SF characters left?

Actually, you can see in the gameplay video that when using Swash bucklers tentacle legs, you attack with those aswell. :c So, the "only transportation" thing is out.

I love chima after being a die hard Ninjago fan after two years. It's hard balancing buying skylanders and chima, while I'm also saving for a PS3 xD

After the command ship and the swamp hideout I'm done.

At first I was kind of meh because I would have preferred nano force with itty bitty sidekick like skylanders, but it's warming up on me a bit now. Roller Brawl is pretty sweet looking. My daughter seems disappointed that there are no dragons yet though and she doesn't seem too interested in the swap force she said the don't really look like skylanders. I may be playing alone this time (Yay platforming!)

mirdir only 9 been reavealed 6 swapable ones and 2 non swapable chances that there a dragon on the non swuapable side

It's a possibility that Nano force, and the likes will be used on a later game. Most create a domain years before ever using it. Pokemon is an example. Forgot what else. I know I saw another group have a few for a popular game.

mybe i hope this is the final game ill get not that i dont like skylanders i just........have too many my mom wont like me spending too much on these when i enjoy em and might be good time mooving on aswell once im 18 ima start my adulthood ^-^

Same here, but i'll only be buying the good ones only, i'm very picky when it comes to buying skylanders

okay, so the play through video brings up a few things

• Wash Buckler had lower HP, and when they used his top half to create a new skylander it had full health.
  
• Flynn is with a new girl, Cali is nowhere to be seen.
  
• The swap forces lower half types (do we have a name for this?) allows them to enter extra areas, effectively making new versions of elemental gates
  

So has anything else been said? Jumping, increased level cap, extra upgrades, online? It seems so far that this is taking the same route as Call of Duty and not changing much each time round, never the less I will be buying it

RatchetJukes, the skylanders can now jump in Swap Force. Nothing of the the level cap and upgrades has been mentioned yet.
There is no online gameplay either.

it seems it might be going the CoD way of switching developers (so each gets 2 years per game) level cap will go up..but nothings confirmed (expect lvl 20) new wow pows for s3 skylanders, no new ones for old toys (as expected and just like SSA to SG) jumpings confirmed, online is yet to be mentioned other then its not going to have online co-op. 32 (possibly 32 level campaign? (i can dream) new characters + new graphics engine + the things i listed before is a substantial change, much more then what happened in giants - and of course, this is with 2 days worth of information and we still have 6-8 months to go.

EDIT: just had a thought...if jumping is in it...how will the fly ability work in the new game?

The flying ability will probably be different from the previous games, or perhaps it will be the same as trying to fly while on a bounce pad.

Wow the cutscenes are now real cutscenes and not more "textbox sequenz with a little bit animations". I like.

Rollerbrawl and Countdown actually show "series 1" under their names on their load screen. so "series" is the figure iteration rather than the game iteration - so some of those "S3 reposes" may actually be "series 2"

The gold for the Sawp force guys seems to be tied to the top. Magna Charge has 5309 gold
Wash Buckler has over 10,000. when Wash Charge is created, he has Wash Buckler's gold (and experience if I'm seeing that clearly). Also, the graphic with the onscreen stats shows Wash no matter what the bottom is.

Interesting catch on both haves there. I hadnt watched it through a second time yet. The series 2 thing I can understand. I am surprised slightly though by the top being the dominate aspect. Though I guess that helps consider the head or the "brain" to be the main focus that defines a character as well... an actual character, while the element and skill to be secondary and interchangeable. I actually like that idea.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but I'm expecting the old portals to work with Swap Force (I'll try and find out for sure), but only for old characters. Admittedly it might be redundant for most people as I would assume you'll only get the game in a pack with a portal this time (like SSA), but maybe for folks renting the game etc. this would be useful.

so while the top half may the dominant or controlling hal for things like gold and experience, how will skill upgrades that involve movement or leg attacks be handled? Presumably, Wash Buckler can upgrade both halves, but if Wash Charge goes to get upgrades, will he only be able to upgrade the skills that affect Wash or will he be able to upgrade Charge as well? or will Wash (and only Wash) be able to upgrade Buckler regardless of the legs he currently has? Or will Wash and Buckler each have their own upgrade paths that are separate from each other?

Is there something to indicate that skills can be upgraded? Or are they static such as the elemental type of a Skylander?

I'm very excited about this, everything I wanted in the series so far plus more great things have been added c:
*Except we have no idea if the 'landers talk in cutscenes, I believe, and it is still early.

I love this idea and the 'new-ish' format, really feels like 'next gen'.

since taking characters through an upgrade path is a core part of the game, I doubt they would remove the feature completely rather than tweak it to fit the SWAP concept. the upgrades will be for the ull figure no mater what halfs u have on if u use wash buckler upgrade him them all upgrades stick with that figure same for any other figure but when u swap a half of the figure to the another which ever half it is that half will still be able to move the same as it would with the full figure if that makes sence watch the videos and you all will see what am getting at

determines anything about top vs bottom halves of the Skylanders. The bottom half only affects movement, while the top if fully geared towards attacks.

and yet, we have clearly seen attacks with the bottom half:
Buckler attacks with tentacles and shoots some kind of ink
Bomb has some kind of toxic fart attack

These attacks are linked to the bottom half, but yeah, I suspect the upgrades will be tied to the top half only.

Maybe any attacks done by the bottom don't get upgraded? Just top half stuff. Who knows all very speculative now.

She definetly wasn't Cali. She seemed to barely know Flynn. I think she'll be vv's girl where Cali will be tfb's and Flynn will be the constant. The awesome constant. Boom.

I just wanna know if we goin to get to see boths paths so we dont have to reset our skylanders ya know like series 2
