Chapter 30
Taking flight

“Well, we can’t just go back home now...” Glacier desperately trying to persuade Blaze.
“It would be a shame coming this far and having to give up... but things are going to get a lot more dangerous from here if you decide to continue. But as I said, I’m here what ever you choose.”
Glacier looked up into the rocky mountain side looking at the two pillars that marked the entrance to the ruins, and then looked at blaze. “I would like to continue.”
“This is your choice and by the look of it your destiny.” Blaze looked up at the darkening sky. “It’s getting late... we’d better wait for tonight and be ready at dawn.”
Glacier and blaze found a nearby cave and settled down without another word.

At dawn break, Glacier had hardly slept that night, just the thoughts going around her head and the odds she was against, she was worried about Blaze, this was dangerous but she didn’t want him to suffer for her choice... Glacier stood up and found that Blaze was already outside, he must have left while she was in one of her rare few minutes of slumber. Glacier walked outside to meat Blaze.
“Are you ready?” Blaze asked.
“...Yes.”
The two dragons took to the sky, flying towards the pillars half way up the steep, rocky mountain side. It wasn’t long before they reached the flat stone entrance to the ruins, the two dragons walked up to the dark hollow before them, both reluctant to meat with whatever lay beneath the cover of darkness.
“You know, I don’t actually know why we are coming to the ruins... Icicle said that it held the next location... what did she mean?” Glacier asked looking into the expanse of darkness.
“There is a tablet in there called “the legend of the silver dragon” it has foretold everything that has happened so far. The invasion, you, and hopefully what you have to do. That is why we’re here, to find out what you have to do.”
“Oh, so this will determine what I have to do...”
“Yes.” Blaze said starting to make his way to the darkness closely followed by Glacier. “Remember to always keep your guard up.” Blaze cautioned.
As the two dragons entered the ruins the torches around the room started to glow a faint white light, they weren’t torches they where crystals. As the two dragons looked around the room, they noticed dark smudges around the room, on the walls and on the floor. There was another room, it’s menacing darkness was daring them to see what lay beyond the next door. The two dragons walked cautiously into the darkness, the crystals around the room starting to light giving the dragons very limited vision, but it was enough to see what the darkness was hiding.

Chapter 31
The Darkness Revealed

“T-This is horrible!” Glacier screamed as she saw the sight, three black dragons all lying lifelessly on the ground the room was covered in blood.
“Something big did this... We’d better be careful.” Blaze said coldly.
“...where’s this tablet then? The sooner we get out of here the better.”
“It’s at the back wall of this room.”
The two dragons walked to the far end of the room, being careful not to stand on a fallen dragon.
“Here. The legend of the silver dragon.” Blaze said. The two dragons read the legend engraved into the grey stone.

There shall be one born with great power and the balance of the ice dragon race on the wings of that of the silver dragon, the strongest form of ice dragon, their can only be one ever two generations.
Their will be a dark night, with no moon, and with no moon, the ice dragons will perish in the reign of darkness. The one silver dragon will travel facing stronger and stronger enemies with the motivation to restore the ice dragon name, that last battle will show inner strength, and the true power of the heart of a mountain.

Chapter 32
The darkest threat

“The true power of the heart of a mountain? What does that mean? None of this makes sense, it doesn’t tell me what to do.” Glacier said in frustration.
“Well the only thing I can say is that you’ll understand when it comes.” Blaze sighed.
“How is this going to help me?! I mean if I don’t understand it then how is it going to help?!” Glacier growled out of frustration.
“Just calm down, we’ll get out of here fast and quietly, who knows but maybe that thing that killed those black dragons might still be here.” Blaze said starting to re-trace his steps out of the ruins closely followed by Glacier. They left the room, still aware that something might be lurking in the darkness. Glacier soon became aware of a deep shadow in a corner of the room behind them.
“Umm, Blaze I think something’s watching us.” Glacier whispered scared of what the shadow might be.
“Where?” Blaze whispered, looking frantically around the dimly lit room.
There was a sudden movement. When both dragons looked to the square of sunlight of the only known exit, there it was, a tall looming shadow, staring, mocking, tormenting its prey. Glacier and Blaze where scared out of their wits, they felt as if they where staring death in the face.

Cool! Moar.

Chapter 33
Death’s face

The two dragons stood paralyzed in fear, what could they do in a grim situation like this? An enemy stronger then anything so far and it’s blocking the only way in and out, there was nowhere to hide, the only option was to fight, but against something like that, there just didn’t seem to be any chance of surviving.
The shadow gave a chilling laugh and said “You both look like you’ve seen a ghost.” It was a soft female voice with the under tone of a great evil lurking within her. The two dragons stood in a stunned silence. “The black dragon gave another cold shrill of laughter. “Well allow me to introduce myself. I am Vanessa, a commander in our... association should I say.” There was a deafening silence.
“It’s only common courtesy when someone introduces themselves that you do so yourself. But I already know enough about you, so until next time.” At that moment the shadow seemed to fade away weather it was a trick of the light or in fact true to what happened, the two dragons did not know.
“I think we should get out of here.” Blaze said breaking the silence, and for the first time Glacier heard fear in Blaze’s voice. Without a further word the two dragons left the darkness behind and where temporarily stunned by the morning light.
