Both Enslaved and Monkey Magic were based on the Chinese story, Journey to the West, which is the second part of the Monkey King legend about Sun Wukong/Son Goku (and before anyone asks, Akira Toriyama ripped off the name and several other ideas when he created Dragon Ball) and his progression from stone statue to living monkey to king of all monkeys to trickster warrior monk to Buddhist disciple and finally God of Fighting. Skipping the first half of the story, Journey to the West is mainly about the travelling priest, Tripitaka, who enounters Monkey imprisoned beneath a mountain and offers to set him free in exchange for his protection during the journey. Monkey defends Tripitaka against first Pigsy and then Sandy, man-eating beasts who repent their evil ways after losing to Monkey and join in Tripitaka's pilgrimage. After facing many trials and upon completing their journey, Tripitaka becomes enlightened, Monkey is redeemed from his trickster ways and honored by the gods for his battle skills, and Pigsy and Sandy are given cushy jobs at the gods' stables (which is pretty good considering, again, they used to be man-eating monsters).

Anyway... optimall, I'm digging those representations of the characters.

Bumping this topic to say I tried to make the Alola Starters in the game... Keyword being tried, but I think they turned out pretty good.
Just did the generic Imaginator share thing because it won't let me load the cards for some reason.
