If it's about the characters themselves, I'd have to go with Sonic.

If it's their series, I prefer Mario overall for it's gameplay and the fact that it had a larger place in my heart as a child when compared to Sonic.

I don't really particularly like any of the characters in either series, but I haven't been too interested in playing many Sonic games. I do have the very first one on Sega Genesis that is really fun and nostalgic for me, but I play more Mario than I do Sonic for sure. Though, I don't play much Mario either, mostly Super Mario RPG. But yeah, Mario.

I don't really like the original Sonic games, because I feel like they keep building up momentum, then stop you. The freedom in them isn't that interesting because you get no reward for speedrunning and there aren't that many interesting secrets. So yeah, I hardly like Sonic at all, even though the characters and worlds are neat (they're easily my favorite part of the Genesis games). It's not just because his quality is very inconsistent, most of his games feel lacklustre to me. Only a couple of the recent ones grabbed me. I'm going with Mario, no contest. Even if you just count the main 3D platformers, or just the Kart games, or just Mario & Luigi, or even just New Super Mario Bros., I find the series more fun to play than most of Sonic.

Sonic 3 was decent. Sonic 1 spirals downhill after the first zone and never really recovers. --- My new account.

Goddammit this one is very hard for me. I've always loved the old Team Magma, and they're my favourite Pokemon villain team. I however dislike the new Team Magma (especially redesigns and their new science theme), yet love the new Team Aqua. The new Team Aqua is my second favourite villain team in Pokemon. And I actually prefer Team Aqua's plan, because it sounds more like a threatening plan that will cause destruction. Maxie's plan doesn't sound near as threatening, although makes a bit more sense.

i might go with team magma because i know they used to be epic.

I honestly can't take any non-Plasma/Rocket team in Pokémon seriously, so I didn't think about this much. --- My new account.
