Is this a comparison of Imaginators versus SuperChargers only, or SSC and SSC:Racing combined? If it's the latter, obviously there are fewer sales when they only offer one game as opposed to two. Wii was also dropped, which would account for some of the drop, since not all households have a newer console.

Plus, this is prior to the holiday season. Notably before Black Friday, which is a big day for sales.

Calm down luminous, there is still the rest of the world and there os the big sells like black Friday and the holiday sellls.

Also, Academy Season 2. That's a thing to take into consideration...

Unless Activision suddenly cancels it. Because they can.

A bad opening week is a bad opening week all the same, and to higher ups that's all they're going to hear.
Not that we didn't see this coming. TTL is unsustainable, yearly is only a stronger poison. Only question is if they'll pull a Guitar Hero out of their own cowardice or try a new genre with the franchise.

I do think we'll at least see the seventh game, mainly for all the reasons others have said (Black Friday and Christmas, Academy Season 2, etc).

Skylanders' opening month was abysmal. It only sold 66K copies, which (for a AAA release) is HORRIBLE!

New Twitters from the same dude say that many franchises are solding poorly (like Just Dance and Titanfall). He also said to wait for the holidays to see what's up with those franchises. Looks like the US is getting tired of yearly releases.

Yeah, Skylanders is not alone this fall. Everyone's performing poorly, but keep in mind, to Activision any excuse is a good excuse to cut a franchise, let everyone go, and let the unfinished content to rot. Battlecast is there as proof they're not afraid of doing this to their TTL franchise.

My only fear is if they will release everything from Imaginators or not. Disney Infinity straight up cancelled all the planned content, so...

What's happening

Hmm. I know what has happen here isn't exactly the entire USA, but my Target and my Walmart has had the same Imaginators in the same spots for a few weeks now. It's like the first week went well and then they are not selling. It's probably down to the die hard fans now, waiting patiently for the next wave and once they get that, more stock will sit untouched. Or perhaps people are just waiting the eventual sales that always goes on with them. That's personally what I'm holding out for as I already have over 200+ figures and I don't feel like paying full price for them any longer when I have seen them go on sale year after year once they are a few months out of date.

One thing that Bifrost said on my "no 2016 Skylander Christmas Ornaments" post was that there are no Imaginator books...nor any Imaginator merchandise. Come to think of it, has anyone seen any oddball Skylander items as all? It's like everyone with a third party license had abandoned Skylanders (the new calender doesn't really count as that was probably planned and made ages ago). Definitely not good signs. At some point it's going to be unprofitable to release a game.

But yeaaaah. My fear is no more waves after three as well. I mean I really REALLY like Tidepool and I want her. A few others are "maybe" for me where I want them more than don't, but I hate the idea of some of the series just not being made. Imaginators really blows SuperChargers out of the water in so many areas too. It's too bad they didn't release Imaginators first and then SuperChargers to fizzle away on.

Buut yeaaah, I've been keeping an eye on the books, and IDW getting cancelled is one thing,but not a lick of info about the yearly Annual or the Guides is way too suspicious. You could attribute to Acti not expecting SC to sell so poorly, but also, it's AAA, they WOULD afford this thrice over if they wanted to pour any marketing effort.

Seriously people, I doubt this is going to be the end of Imaginators, or even the franchise for that matter. I'll admit that it was worrying, but as some people have said, there's still Black Friday and Christmas, which is when Skylanders usually picks up in terms of sales. The game's only been out for like, what, a month?

Plus, we know Vicarious Visions is already working on the seventh game, and that Season 2 of Academy is in development. Sure, there's nothing stopping Activision from pulling the plug, but I think sales would have to be absolutely terrible, like downright irredeemable for them to even consider cancelling it now. I say we'll at least get one more year.

Well, so Activision expected all of this? At least this means they kinda planned it all.

Matteo hacked the game and found the variants before the website updated. If the worst is to come, he'll be the only one with access to gameplay of the missing characters.

66k is downright terrible.

I highly doubt it's getting cancelled.

That doesn't look too good... Let's just hope it sells a bit more for Christmas. I really wouldn't like to see Wave 4 cancelled, let alone the entire franchise. I'm holding on to hope a little longer, but it looks like it's going down the same path as SC.

We'll have to wait for articles to see, but they didn't say LD's sales so I'll guess just starter packs to compare to other games.

Again, Holidays are definidely a big factor. Booth to new players starting the game now or people buying Wave 3.

I should clarify that those numbers are strictly for Europe. Globally, Imaginators sold 180K Starter Packs. It's not gang busters by any means but it's still better than 66K

I figured, something about that didn't really seem right.
But anyway... Has anyone run the math on that? I mean I know that may not sound like a lot, but keep in mind we don't know all the details.
The standard starter pack goes for seventy-five bucks, but then there are the dark and Crash editions which sell for a hundred.
And that's not even taking into account additional figures, creation crystals, packs...
So for all we know Imaginators could actually be doing all right at least.
Maybe that's just me choosing to be optimistic though.

If Skylanders ends, I won't be able to function properly anymore. What would I turn to? I mean, I could fulfill my dream of having a massive Godzilla figure collection, but that wouldn't satisfy me for anywhere near as long as Skylanders did.

But Wave 3 on December 2nd maybe? That's good!

Even this is true think of it. There talking about the First 2 waves! Yet its probs a doubt they'll get a lot in those skylanders but think about it! Its a toys to life game! They will get there money from the toys!

This series has to end eventually, i mean if they make 20 more games they won't get any better.
