Both... The Logholder is in the Water and Magic Element and the Hammer is in the Life and Earth Element.
They are not the same. The Hammer is more boxy looking and the Logholder is rounded.

This is true, it came out in Wave1 (Hence the red box), however if you are wanting to know what is in the 8-pack, look for the #8 in side the box. The only one that has not been release as a single is the Tech Tiki and of course the Variant-Life Toucan.

I guess that variant #5 will be the W4 earth trap with red hot tussle sprout?

Sooo... after a massive TRU purchase yesterday, I'm realizing something. There are FOUR Light/Dark villain per element to catch (eight total). There are THREE Light/Dark trap designs (six total).

Does this mean I'll need a double of one light and one dar trap to fill up my box? Or is a fourth trap for each element planned?

No they are only making 3 Light Traps an 3 Dark Traps....you will have to buy an extra..unless you got a Rebel Lob Goblin. Then you would only have to buy an extra Dark Trap.

I'd heard there was also supposed to be another variant still in the pipeline. Some folks had said it's a "Steampunk" variant of Shrednaught, but it's hard to say how accurate that is.

Yes Doug and ViDeOmAnCiNi that is whats left...also the Steampunk Shrednaught has been confirmed, just no one knows what Tech Trap there going to put it in(hope its the Tiki Trap for those that didn't get 8-Pack...unless they plan on doing a single in wave 5 of it...of witch they should)...someone found it in the game, forgot his/her name. Pictures have been posted here on different threads many times. I believe Buuzer was the last to post the pic.

Well finaly finished my Red Hot Tussle Sprout Trap touch-up. ...thinking about adding some transparent red to the mask....but don't know if i will or not.

I see that the last 3 standard are overseas, and will hit the USA soon. Any word on the last Variant?

Thanks bro For this type of PVC plastic use ONLY Acrylic's. The paint i used mostly for the Traps was Createx that i got from Hobby Lobby. Also you can use Testors brand Acrylic's.....i also have a lot of Tamiya Acrylic Paints. Theres also FolkArt Acrylic Paint....i mixed there Bronze(witch looks like Copper...lol) and Matallic Chocolate Brown to fix my Trail Blazer.
When painting with Acrylic....to get the best look many layers is better then one or two thick layers. The Trap above was painted about 5 or 6 times, because water based paint is very thin.

We're curious about painting the Villain Variant Traps, to help distinguish them from their original counterparts (at the moment, small red rubber bands hugs the variants lol).

Phoenix, I know you use pearlized paints on your custom traps, but what brand are the paints? Your variant traps are amazing. Do you paint custom Skylanders too? If so, do you use the same brand of paints on the figures?

The pearlized paints i use are the Createx Paints i stated above...there Airbrush paints that i get from Hobby Lobby.

I have some of the Opaque an Transparent also.
And yes i have painted my figures with them also(look in the "Show off your CUSTOM FIGURES" thread). The most reasent was my Gill Runt....to match the Gill Grunt i did some time ago.

I use my Tamiya Color Acrylic Paints and the Createx Paints the most....have used my Testor Model Master Acryl Paints on a few. My work table has a lot of little paint bottles on it...lol.

I seriously doubt they're going to release the final three traps here in he US, which ticks me off, and actually removes a bit of the confidence I have in the Skylanders brand overall.

So, you should put that the wave 5 traps are overseas only. It's dumb of them to keep quiet on traps that actually register in our collections, thus remain darkened on our collection screen, this we can't have a complete collection.

Note that the traps haven't been found in Europe either. So, either they're just ridiculously late (probable) or they're Australia exclusive (unlikely).

There's no need to prematurely label them as region exclusives.

This may sound odd since the game has been out since Oct2014 but it is still too early...
I remember when Scarlet was out Overseas and it took awhile until we got her in the US. Remember LC Hex, we had to wait until the next game came out.
This isn't the first time they waited, holding on to the last few to get closer for the release of the next game.

Another logical answer could be that they are having issues producing the Super Chargers and trying to resolve those issues before producing US the last traps.

Yes the Lightcore Hex is the perfect example....She wasn't close to the release of the next game. We couldn't get her untill after the release of the next game...unless you did the pre-order and you could get her on the release date.

I'm also starting to doubt the ;last three traps will ever be released here. If they couldn't be bothered to make four different light/dark traps for the four different light/dark villains, why would they feel like releasing the last three are a priority?
