So wait, are there any details of what the "Senseis" do in game, or are they just bigger shinier cores again? Because I noticed they have like Swap Force-esque symbols on their bases but I don't know what that's about.

They are the only ones to be able to access some areas as well. ( I guess some kind of sensei gate). Oh they increase the level cap of customized skylanders and have this special battle hability

Meet the Senseis - The Skylanders franchise continues to offer engaging characters that kids love to discover as they play the game. Skylanders Imaginators will introduce new guest stars to Skylanders called Senseis to fans. Senseis include 20 new characters and 11 former villains. Each Sensei is a master of one of 10 powerful Battle Classes (e.g. Knight, Sorcerer, Brawler, and more).

Being the master of these Battle Classes, only Senseis have the ability to unleash Sky Chi - the ultimate Battle Class super move. Sensei Skylanders have a master-to-apprentice relationship with newly created Imaginator Skylanders. This is supported in-game through the Sensei unlocking of unique Imaginator weapons, the increase of Imaginator level caps, providing access to special areas in the game, as well as the unlocking of new Secret Techniques for Imaginators of the same class.

Nothing, really... They are very much like the Trap Team in that case. Makes sense as this is a TFB game. The only thing they can really do is "Big Skylanders"

I think I take back what I said about not buying any more Skylanders games or figures. This game sounds really interesting and I look forward to seeing more about it. So far, my favourite character is the triceratops.

Innovative Gimmick-landers are not their strong suit. They make the best characters, IMO though. Plus, the gimmick this time around is real interesting, so... I forgive them for making BIG SKYLANDERS again.

I just hoped they wouldn't make big Skylanders again but the did and that's not good for me since I don't have much room left, I guess I'll have to seperate the Cores from the Trap Masters and add them to the "all other Cores, Giants & Swappers" closet. I think TFB makes some amazing characters and some really bad ones.

Well, yeah, obviously they've made bad characters before, but I feel like VV's characters fall into the Dreamworks style of character a bit too often for my tastes. Just a personal preference. I'm a bit more forgiving of the big toys thing because of the Custom Skylanders. I would love a 3D Printing service that could make your character a reality. That would be SO COOL! I know they won't do it, but a man can dream!

Raw power =\= specialkzation. Kids don't know the difference but thjs might be the intention.

Well, looks like I'm back on the Skylanders ride. TFB delivering again with something actually interesting not just adding vehicles.

I don't think they would just put those Life and Fire Skylanders on the Starter Pack, they are probably at the reveal.

I'm very interested to see that Life Sensei. He looks pretty freaking cool, if you ask me. Like Miko from Battleborn.

Do I understand it right that we will have in this year two gimmicks, on one site the senseis and on other site our created Skylander in the Crystal? Or why we will have a water and a earth character in the starter and a fire crystal?

Hrmmmm I really like the life sensei, I like this idea of building a character (aside from the fact there doesnt seem to be quadrupeds ): ), and the game doesn't FORCE the gimmick upon you (racing, ugh SSC...) so yeah, think this will be a buy for me.
Will wait to see more though. In the meantime I'll play TT for the first time lol.

@TTD that character looks more like an Imaginator rather than a Sensei.

Just noticed that there's mention that you can only create one Skylander per crystal, does that mean if you want to make multiple Skylanders of the same element you have to buy multiple crystals or could you store custom made Skylanders and switch them out like the traps? I hope it's the former but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was the latter.

Presumably you can use a crystal regardless of the element but you need a sensei's of a particular type to create a Skylander of the same type.

I don't feel bad for TAGG, he was messing around with people by giving crap hints which were probably in violation of his agreement for hours before the video was leaked. He was really pushing it and he got burned badly. I wouldn't put it pass him that this "accident" was on purpose or he'll say that his account was hacked. He really wasn't treating this at all professionally like the others who didn't whisper a word about anything at all.

In fact, I'd wager the others who were at the event are really pissed off at him now. He got first leak which means he gets all the attention and hits to his channel and social media. He's gleaming all the popularity that was supposed to be shared and he'll have it for the next 24 hours or so. The others are left in the lurch waiting to tell their dreadfully old news. They'll get less hits, less revenue, etc. etc. I feel totally bad for those people. Seriously, every kid is now making a video about this and putting it on Youtube, by tomorrow most people won't even click to watch anything further about this. Still though it was amazing how nothing was leaked out for so long. Only the calender. Activision is getting too good at this. LOL!

And as if it were really that easy to get into Activision, Toys for Bob or VV after hours. So easy that that a team of kids can make it in? If it was really that easy, I would have been in there myself to steal corporate secrets to leak the Darkspyro forum, as well as take massive amounts of rare Skylanders stuff for myself. Sure I would go to prison, but it'll be so worth it. LOL!

I don't know. I mean, I believe Superchargers showed the Wii U starter before they announced the surprise Donkey Kong. I mean, really no way to tell whether or not they'll be coming back at the moment, and probably not until E3 since that's when DK and Bowser were revealed.

Also, wow, r/skylanders is just all over the place with misinformation. They already stuck in their heads this is the worst ever, Swap Force 2, and all the rumors are true.

It's less than 12 hours for the reveal, patience before ditching the new game e_e the criticisms here are very legit but we're waiting before the final judgement.
