How is bouncer a legitimate competitor against eye brawl? His eye can just fly and blast the heck out of him, just like everyone except thumpback.

#1803 Posted: 15:41:39 24/01/2013
he can use his fists of destruction to hit eye brawl from afar, the only problem is if eye brawl's eye laser range is close enough to hit bouncer, if not bouncer can easily beat him with better range from his fists, but it also depends on the experience of the players, also when eye brawl is out of range to bouncer and his eye is already flying, it's pretty easy for bouncer to keep spamming his fists of destructions, however i personally don't like eye brawls appearance, his moves are good in battle and PvP, however i don't have eye brawl so i can't test a PvP VS Bouncer

Thanks all, lots of information coming in and ideas smilie What we need is real world PvP Battle testing of the the new four; Hot Dog, Zap S2, Eye Brawl, and Thumpback. Please try to take time and play against all the Skylanders in a tier, not just Giant on Giant. Also, until we have more definitive results, it is best to NOT battle the new four against each other as that doesn't help determine placement at this time.

My boys are back this weekend, and we will try to get some results in but have a busy schedule so who knows smilie

Keep in mind that Eye Brawl is going to be weak to Ninjini, and may suffer against S2 Wrecking Ball as well depending on the nature of his Wow Pow. The necessary check to balance him out isn't released yet, and he terrorizes the current Magic element for the most part. He'll seem like more of a fit for plain S-tier and not "Eye Brawl Tier" once the remaining characters are out.

Also, I do agree about Crusher. He was popped in S-tier along with the release of the game, where he did belong... for a time. But subsequent releases and some far more powerful Giants are definitely causing me to rethink S-tier as well. I second A for Crusher. B, in my opinion, is almost too low for any Giant, but he doesn't seem as broken today as he did in October, when we only had approximately half the roster to judge him against. Back then, he mopped the floor with S1 guys and most of the new characters. Since, we've had Eruptor, Prism Break, Lightning Rod, Eye Brawl, Thumpback, the realization that Swarm was a dominant character, and widespread Wave 2 distribution that has certainly made him weaker by comparison.

ok, thumpback pretty much obliterates all life types except stealth elf and tree rex, and those are 50-50%'s. zook is too slow and his cacti are completely ignored, so he is killed almost immediately. camo (V V) is too low damaging and gets anchored to death. shroomboom (PP) actually took a chunk out of thumbacks health with the paramushrooms, but dies due to thump's high health.

tree rex (LL), however, is his most competitive opponent and blasts him over and over with the photosynthesis blast, and using his melee AOE punches if thump gets close. the 150+ dmg really takes huge chunks out of his health.

What the hell? While I haven't played with him yet; I really can't imagine Thumpy annihilating Stump Smash, Shroom Boom (Paramushroom Promotion) or Zook unless their player stinks.

Which anchor attack has good range? The spammable A attack or the Power Swing combo? Or both?

We're doing splendid work here, gentlemen.

  • S2 Zap / Tesla Dragon placed in B Tier.
  • S2 Zap / Slime Serpent placed in C Tier, for now.
  • Hot Dog / Burning Bow-Wow placed in B Tier.
  • Hot Dog / Pyro Pooch placed in C Tier.

Best fight in skylanders:

S1 stump smash smash and bash vs. eye brawl. It is sooooo even.

So exactly how much damage is Anchors A-Yay Thumpback capable of? The way I'm hearing it, Whirlpool Ripper ticks 10 damage and pulls the opponent in, regular Anchor attack is ? damage, Power Swing Anchor is 90 damage, and Whale Chomp is ? damage?
X-Treme Ripto Gems: 360
#1815 Posted: 00:43:49 25/01/2013
So, the anchor does 36, and the whirlpool does 6, ticks really fast, and pulls the opponent in. That leaves them vulnrable to a few more anchor swings. The bite does 45.

I plan on getting Thumpback soon (if I can find him), I have yet to give my opinion on both paths and see if he's as good as X-Treme here claims, although probably not.

He does look S material but like Crusher, his gameplay looks..... kinda clunky.

I'm almost positive it has. Back when every other post was an "official wave 3 topic" a few months ago smilie

Anyway, I've been playing with Sunburn lately and I'm really not clicking with either of his paths. Is there something I'm missing to make him good? Flame Lord is currently in A-tier, but he really doesn't feel all that powerful since there's too much stop and go between attacks. Blaze Dragon seems ok, but Eruptor ends up being a better fire breather than him, since he dishes out better damage without losing speed like Sunburn does.
X-Treme Ripto Gems: 360
#1821 Posted: 14:42:16 26/01/2013
Oh yeah, the dreaded "wave three" topics. >.<

I have been doing some testing with s1 terrafin sandhog, and he does too low dmg to be A. You can run away from him, wait till he pops up, and beat him up. Many B tiers can cream him.

#1822 Posted: 12:55:17 27/01/2013
Not really. It depends what type of player the opponent is. S1 Sandhog did a fine job against my sisters B Tiers. Just bellyflop, run away and get back in the ground quickly. There. IMO.

My mom found Swarm at Target.

Call me crazy but I think I would recommend moving S2 Harpooner smilie to B tier, although it's still highly inferior to Water Weaver (That path is a borderline between A and B IMO).

His Anchor Cannon does more damage on this path than it does on Water Weaver, 56 damage baby! With the Wow Pow, it makes it easier for you to hit your opponent with the Cannon and you can even TRIPLE the damage by hitting him/her with all 3 anchors for 168 damage when you're both close to each otehr, kind of like Soul of the Flame Ignitor. There are barely any Life guys in C where he is now, and quite a few amount of Fire guys who'll get there butts handed to him. A lot of the C tiers are also kinda slow compared to him because of his jet pack, although it has poor controls (it only faces in one direction unless you shoot the harpoons) and doesn't last long.

He would be an A, but because of the regular harpoon damage and his extremely low armor he can't be. Feel free to disagree if you want, but this PvP fight I did better shows the 168 damage trick (Although my opponent isn't as good as me, she did put up a good fight in the first battle), it also has badass music from other video games!

Thumpback has a highly spammable combo for long range, an extremely damaging bite at close range, and a fast dash that GETS you in close range. He totally murders zook, as hos cactus does nothing against the anchor, and he is too slow and low damaging to kill thumps.

Tree rex is a decent competiter, winning 40% of the time, and stump smasj's acorns are completely ignored by tue anchor.

What he lacks is speed and defense. He is very slow and his Beast form takes a while to transform and he is left vulnerable.

For Ranged characters, he is easy to beat.

I upgraded him on Mad Scientist. I know he's semi-weak to ranged skylanders, but is an All In fire puddle worth the time necessary to pull it off? Or should I just spam the green and brown potions, not bothering with mixing them?
