In case you missed it... You can order your own 3D Printed Skylanders with the Skylanders Creator App. The video was most likely made with the intent that you knew what the app was already so it didn't go into much detail on that front

Then why would they have a creator app button built into the game for good? It seems like cartoon network is just promoting it. It's like Mountain Dew and Call of Duty, or those weird Animal Crossing/Sanrio crossover amiibo cards.

A custom created skylander figure of your very own skylander... wow. The Creation Crystals seem so lackluster right now. Man, if this is not some random promotion with cartoon network where they chose some random winners, this is really epic. Really expensive, also, probably. But epic nonetheless!

It seems like you can upload the in-game Imaginators to Cartoon Network while the whole "Imaginator Figure" thing is its own separate feature within the app itself.

The reason why they're encased in a bubble is because of the material used for the 3d print, most likely. I remember seeing several full-color 3d-printed Skylander prototypes at Toys for Bob and was told that I couldn't handle them due to how fragile they were. I looked on another table and saw a Trigger Happy prototype with broken-off arms.

Hopefully they use a different material for it, but who knows.

I feel like there's a lot of confusion surrounding the Creator App and its functions. I am here to clear some things up!

The Cartoon Network promo does not, I repeat does NOT involve any of the 3D Printing stuff that was mentioned early into the commercial. Basically, you have the option to send CN your Imaginators and have it play on the feed for the CN App. The 3D Printing aspect is a feature exclusive to the app and is not tied in any way to Cartoon Network's marketing shenanigans!

I would assume there is no limit. Like Jeremy said, there are a Googol amount of combinations.Your Bayonetta Skylander is free to be printed!

He does say in the video that it is a working skylander.

I guess the Crystals would still be the waaaaay cheaper option.

He did say, and I quote, "a PLAYABLE, one-of-a-kind 3D Print of my Skylander..." So yeah! There you go.

I don't necessarily agree with that last part, though. The figure might be a lot more expensive than a $10 Crystal. Most people here are only doing one anyway, so I wouldn't say their purpose is COMPLETELY negated.

If it is not USA only, or terribly expensive (say, up to $ 30 dollars), I would love to ask some friends to create their own skylanders in the app, get them 3d printed into one-of-a-kind skylanders, and then give them as a gift, together with a copy of the game and a portal purchased separately off ebay. It would be an awesome way to introduce some people to a series that is so dear to me. Give them a present that is symbolic of my passion for the series. I would really love that.

Before I decide anything, I want to see the price.

Since it's only on the US, and Crystals are cheaper, I'll stay with the Crystals.
