I am going out on a limb and say that Fright Rider will be one of the next "Lost 8 - part2"

I like the idea of s2 skylanders and lightcore. S2 just makes it so Spyro doesn't get ditched in the first game Lightcore is epic Back to topic: They needed to make 16 s2 for this game so they miss the newlanders and the ditchedlanders

That's silly. That's like saying, "Giants had no swappers, so SFF won't". It's not like Giants is a legal precedent. And not only that, it's not TFB doing this game. And Vv have had more time than Giants did to consider combinations. I mean, I’m pretty sure that they are going to do ‘normal’ versions of lightcore figures like you say, but mostly because that’s been confirmed for Star Strike already. But for Sky4 I’m hoping that they use lightcore as a way to diversify the character lineup, not as a way to sell two versions of the same guy. Quote: Matteomax
Yeah, as I said in a previous thread, he’s not really in tune with the new aesthetic they have for the series. The new figures are all very… ‘kid friendly’. Very smooth, curvy and cartoonish. In the other thread someone pointed out that they have to create a new cgi model for him anyway since his figure is compatible, and I agree – but there is a big difference between a cgi model and putting thousands of physical models on shop shelves. I don’t think Chop-chop is scary at all in comparison – pretty sure my nieces wouldn’t have realised that he was even a skeleton at all if I hadn’t pointed it out. He looks like a generic robot warrior guy. And while Fright is a little scary, Rider is harmless. And as Rider is clearly in control, Fright Rider is an inherently less scary figure. Meanwhile, Ghost Roaster just looks… evil. Like he wants to eat your soul (which, point of fact, he does). Hell, get a screen shot of him one-on-one against any enemy - it looks like the chompy (or whatever) is the hero and GR is the baddie, because the real baddie is cute and Ghost Roaster is a monster! I like GR and he’s great to play, but he doesn’t look like a cute, kid friendly hero. You may have noticed that there are a lot of things in Spyro’s Adventure that weren’t in Giants to make the second game more kid friendly (no more skeleton baddies, for example). SSF seems to be taking that even further. If GR ever comes back, I’m betting he’d be massively redesigned. |
