That's a good point, but that could also mean they're changing LOS. Unless this is a reboot, which I'm conflicted about... Or, they're returning to the Originals.

In other words, the 'different direction' really doesn't rule anything out...

Not nessassarily. They were going to make a Spyro movie, but they decided to take Spyro in a different direction from the movie.. so I believe it could go either way.

Also.. it says it's to be on the Wii and DS? ..I only have a PS2.. :/

At least we know a possible name now. Judging by it, it seems like it will have classic gameplay, or at least something similar to the classics that's major, and of course since it's set in the LoS universe my thought of a new-style game with classic gameplay may just be right. Good to see they're dropping Hollywood voice actors too so they have more budget for the game.

How does somebody find all of this information? I've searched countless times, and I never find anything.

My guess is it was just some Spyro fan looking for games in a Dutch pricesheet.

Yes, it could. But that seems unlikely to me. Why would they say that, and it not be in the Legend universe? All it's going to do is get people expecting something that doesn't exist. Bad marketing, in my opinion.

It should be. I mean, they had two years to make it. Usually it only takes a year to make a Spyro game.

Well, the good news is if it takes 3 then we will have the 3DS and can just play that until it comes out. And the new Pokemon games.

Now I'm afraid it will only be released in Dutch countries because it appeared on a Dutch pricelist. D: Then again, why?

That's why I have a monster-sized amount of games to play. It helps ease the frustration.

. . . Spyro's Kingdom? Heck, they might as well change the title to Wings of Majesty. . . I concur with some of you that I'll be on the fence on this one. I don't like the information that is presented but heck, the night is still young changes can still be made.

See, the worst thing is we don't know how long they've been working on this. We don't know whether they just started, if they're halfway through, or they're almost finished, which is just ANNOYING. (Sorry if I NINJA you, Isis)

I believe one of the sources says that have been working on it since 2009. So almost 2 years, which is your average video game development length.

Hopefully, the source is right. I wouldn't mind waiting another year if it's REALLY good but any more than 3.5 years will just disappoint me. Christmas would be great because I don't really see any good games coming then, so Spyro will keep me entertained till the 3DS(I plan to beat both versions). Actually, that'd be impeccable... Really, I'd cry in joy if it came then.

Well I hope the source is wrong on some accounts. For example, Spyro's Kingdom. . . - you know what that sounds stupid. I'm calling it Wings of Majesty (WoM) - being on the Wii? I have DOTD both on Wii and XBOX 360. . . and I gotta say it was a lot better to play it with an actual controller than a Wii remote & numb-chuck.

I'm used to the Wii-Mote. I must be, like, the only person ever on here who is. But the actual controllers are better. Don't forget about the classic GC-style controller though. It could have compatibility with that.

...I like the Wii...but that's for another topic.

Anyways, I'm not sure if the title is final. However, if the title fits the game, then it's not that bad...

To be honest, I'll be fine with the title as long as the first level has something to do with a castle-like area or the temple, or if Spyro has truly grown up and is now a leader of the dragons(IMO, both are fine with me). It doesn't really sound bad, but it's sort of kiddish.

...Please don't use 'kiddish' or 'childish'... *twitches* Say it sounds cliche if anything else... But kiddish/childish makes me wanna go on a rant about 'maturity and immaturity'...

But I have to agree about the castle thing. It's not a kingdom without a castle.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Wii (Have Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2). I just don't think it fits with Spyro.

I hope the title isn't final, and yeah, if the game / plot / execution is good, then I'm sure the title will fit. . . But Spyro's Kingdom. . . just sounds to generic for my tea.

Actually, Wings of Majesty is some Spyro fan's name... As far as I know, It's not Zackeio's. Otherwise it wouldn't be mentioned on the Spyro Wiki.

True; like I said, we don't know how far in production they are. They could be doing cutscenes and adding extras or they could just be smoothing out graphics at this point. It just depends on the game, really.

Anyway, if they have been working on this game since 09. . . then they should be either getting to half way in their beta testing, half done with their beta testing, or almost done with their alpha testing.

I forgot to add, the game's only been announced for Wii and DS. It could be on other platforms, since Nintendo is more social than Microsoft and Sony. To be honest, though, I'd like a Nintendo-exclusive Spyro for once.

@DC543: If its about short stories (not only would that be original in my eyes in terms of video games) then they might as well call it "Tales of Spyro", or "Spyro Tails", something like that.

Or, they could release it for Wii, then the normal one for other consoles. Wii would have extra features and DS interaction.

I hope the story is good at least, not just a plain fairytale.
