Well... I do admit SWAP Force was the closest time I felt like playing an open world instead of a level games in this series.
It kinda reminds me of how the game world was handled in Crash Mind over Mutants: you get from a dusty desert to a frosty mountain and while you indeed fell the difference between the two areas you kinda go there in a natural way.
That's more or less how I think an open-world Skylanders game would be.
But still, being a series of levels the illusion kinda fails in SWAP Force: they should have gone for very different locations like they did in SuperChargers when it comes to dividing a game so heavily.
At least I understand that choice better now.
Could have worked, after all.
